Does anyone have any suggestions on sourcing used Snowmobile Salvage Parts?

If it is a Formula 500F, it should take a Mikuni VM34 carbs (I assume it has two). Not sure what jetting yours would need but the carb is pretty common and any VM34 should work. with proper jetting.

Does anyone have any suggestions on sourcing used Snowmobile Salvage Parts?

Sorry, I should have gotten back to you sooner on this. The main issue with salvage yards is that a lot of them won't pull the part for you. Bam's Toys in Oxford Wi. has a ton of parts but you may have to pull it. As REVERUP mentioned, I'm finding myself buying more and more stuff from ebay...

Nice catch and that's some good eating right there! Hard to beat fresh trout on the grill.

    Over 500 Miles Below Zero

Had to watch this again last night. Seems like I see something new each time I watch it. It’s remarkable how many sled brands competed in this race. In addition to the big three, different scenes in the film showed sleds from Rupp, Moto Ski, Scorpion, John Deere, Brut, Yamaha, Chaparral...

    Over 500 Miles Below Zero

When I was at the vintage show in East Grand Forks a week ago, Bearrassler and I were talking about the Winnipeg/St. Paul race and the old films that were made about that race. He mentioned that he had helped the film crew during the making of one of these films, which was titled: “Over 500...

    It's 2024, Let's Fish!

Totally agree - Taking in a winter sunset on the ice is special. If some fish show up, all the better but it's not a requirement for enjoying the experience.

Wow! Your shop looks just like mine...NOT. Amazing work and organization. Must feel pretty good to be at this point in the project.

    Polaris Mutt Mod

Finally managed to load up a couple sleds and get out to a show in East Grand Forks this weekend. As with a lot of the Midwest, it didn’t look much like winter. Brown grass and bare pavement instead of snowbanks and ice-covered asphalt. In spite the uncooperative winter it was a great show with...

    A Thought Provoking Drive

I had to make a trip to Thief River Falls today for a medical appointment, which took me past both the Polaris and Arctic Cat assembly plants in Roseau and TRF. I’m sure people that drive this route regularly don’t pay much attention but to me it seemed like an unusual experience to pass major...

Some pics from January 25th, 2023

Nice pics! Have to wonder if those will be duplicated this winter. It's just crazy, up in Lake of the Woods Co. today, we were 65 degrees warmer than we were just a few days ago. With the bright sunshine it, could have passed for late March.

I don't miss too many but I didn't see that one. The Skiroule snowmobiles still have a really loyal following. Like so many snowmobile brands of the day, if they had been able to build a better dealer network, things might have turned out differently for the company.

    Polaris Mutt Mod

Funny…Not really. In fact, I’ve only fished once so far this winter and the supply is getting low but I’m hoping to correct that problem in Feb. and March. Have a couple of extended outings planned. It’s kind of a weird feeling seeing the shop like this. Not a sled in sight and the section of...

Really can’t thank you guys enough for sticking with me on these long projects. There are many times it keeps me pushing ahead. If there is one thing I’d like to change it would be getting them done faster. I suppose it’s like the old saying: If you don’t like this speed, you really won’t like...

    Polaris Mutt Mod

You guys know vintage sleds and either have or have ridden the old iron so it’s good to hear that you approve of the work. This was the hardest project I’ve ever attempted and it definitely pushed the limits of my ability. I had to chuckle at this but it’s a fair question. I would have to pick...

    Polaris Mutt Mod

I’ve always liked the midnight blue but I think this is my favorite shade of Polaris blue. Like you said, it really comes to life in the sun. I got the shocks from Speedway Motors. The installed “ride height” is pretty close to what I needed (about 11.75”) which I think is roughly what the...

After what seems like a long time in the making (because it was), I can officially present to you….The Mutt. Brakes and clutching work excellent and the motor spins up nicely. It rips pretty good and is an absolute blast to ride, just as I thought it would be. I’m lovin’ this little sled. A...

    It's 2024, Let's Fish!

With most sledding still a tough go, it seemed like the best way to welcome in the new year was to get a line in the water. A cousin was up at his place fishing a half-mile or so offshore so I went up and grabbed one of his sleds and joined him for a few hours. A tad breezy but a nice sunny...

    Just Dreaming this morning

Great photos, just looking at them makes me feel better. I figure that if I'm going to dream, I might as well dream big (and deep).
