    Trail openings

Talked to a white thunder member today. Hurley has 5" and out panning today. Tough to say for 13th based on forecast right now though.

What trip(s) have you cancelled so far?

I'm usually unable to take trips in December due to family obligations. My first trip is always the AWSC Winter meeting the first weekend of January. I had a couple friends cancel their rooms. Wife, son, and myself are still going. My 4 year old was super excited about the pool and railroad...

Favorite stops from back in the day..

We always stopped there on the Saxon run. Good times, but terrible outcome of the bar. It was set on fire after a guy killed the bartender. 2016 I believe.

Bear Trap Inn in Saxon. That was a terrible story there.

    John Dee

RIP JD. Your kindness and passion for the outdoors and sports was unmatched. I haven't been on here too long, but love hearing all the stories from others. Great man and will be missed. A memorial on the trail would be great. A gofundme would be great to get something setup for the family or...

What Will You Be Riding This Winter?

I couldn't live without my fuel doors or roof vent. Agree with Hoosier and MS, I always gas them up before we get to the destination. Get dressed and go. I always find it a pain to get all geared up, and have to stop a couple minutes after firing the sleds up. I replaced my stock vent with...

    John Dee's Seasonal Forecast

Well, I'm holding out hope for central WI, as John noted! We've been dry all season(until the last 2 weeks), and due for some average or above average snows. Agree with Gary on 14-15. I checked my logs. Stevens Point had 12” at Thanksgiving time. December had 0.2” of snow for entire month...

What Will You Be Riding This Winter?

I'm currently at 8100 miles on my '17 as well. I had the top end rebuilt at 6800 for peace of mind. Strong runner. Sled is too fun to give up. :)

    John Dee's Road to Recovery

This month's Snowgoer magazine had a little writeup on JD's injury. Folks looking out for you! Glad you're on the mend!

Milwaukee snow show is no more

I attended Wide Open WI on Saturday. It was my first time and was a great day! Turn out seemed ok, but nothing crazy. I got to see a lot of friends from the association, local clubs, and some other forum friends. The safety classes were well attended. Good to see that! I helped in the AWSC booth...

Packers & Bears, Whadda Ya Think?

Gutey looking like a mastermind after this! Rodgers was a risk, and now Lafleur gets to run his offense and not have it overrode by Rodgers. Man, the media was trashing the Bears after that game. :) Love was poised the whole game. O line did a great job, and wasn't much pressure.

    Hay Days this year

Not terribly surprised on the Milwaukee show. Hopefully that will get some more people out for WOW now! My wife still has her boots that she bought from Highlands. Too bad about them.

Packers & Bears, Whadda Ya Think?

Glad it's back! Seems like it's basically a toss up for the betters then. I'll go with Packers by 3. Love showed a lot of composure during the preseason which was encouraging. Not a lot of defenses blitzing and pressure though, so we'll see what happens under pressure. I'm expecting ups an...

    Hay Days this year

I'm not sure what to expect from WOW. It's still pretty young, is only the 3rd year? I'm hoping it can turn into what the Milwaukee show was 10ish years ago. I'm sure it will take a little time. Bring in a little more music, and will draw more people also. Good to see the club offering the...

    Hay Days this year

I'm skipping this year. Not too much needed this year. Going to Wide Open Wisconsin to check it out. Working the AWSC booth in the afternoon for a couple hours. We'll be back next year though! Have fun!

Cool thing in McDonalds drive up today

That's very nice of you! The bad news outshines the good news out there.... Good to hear things like this. I'm the same way with my tips. At least 20%. I worked in the restaurant business and know how hard they work. My wife picked up a side job to waitress a couple times a month to pay some...
