    Todays Ride

Ratchet straps weren't in my plan either. I like to get my dishes done on the trail...........just kidding, it's a small bottle of anti-freeze. I like to be prepared on the trail! i figured I would get questioned about that! Yep, it's coolant, better to be safe than sorry!

SE WI - Walworth - Waukesha - Racine - Kenosha - Jefferson Counties

I know Waukesha County has a 32 degree rule, if the temp is above they close the trails and it's 35 both Saturday/Sunday and with partly cloudy, don't know if Walworth is that way or not.

2 Dead in Vilas Co... Thursday

Yes, to be honest with you I typically just pull over and let them come at me and get on down the trail. It's just safer to let them get by because you can't figure out their riding skills until they are on you. I do find that during the week riders seem to be older and pretty responsible in the...

    Todays Ride

I have a hard plastic Ammo case and I purchased the Linq rack from Ski doo for $133.00 at the dealer in Woodruff. I then bolted the ammo case to it and it holds everything I need. I think I have about $180.00 with Linq hardware in it total, not including the ammo case which I had. I like it...

    Todays Ride

Departed Manitowish Waters around 9:30am and temp was 8 degrees above, rode the secret trails north to Pine Lake, and took 8 west to Upson, north to Saxon, lunch in Saxon, up to Saxon Harbor, Lake Superior was angry and iced over, wind blowing hard across the lake. Back down #9 and weaved our...

    Vilas 1/31 ride

In 79 I was 21 years old, the scene looks pretty familiar and I would say it may be over by Bauers Dam. I remember many rides with snowmobiles that looked like the ones in this picture. Funny how trail reports on this website bring back memories of the past.

2 Dead in Vilas Co... Thursday

RIP to both families, hate to hear this, we rode 780 miles this week and I was really glad to get home tonight before all the traffic started. We came through Mercer at around 5pm and it was really cranking up with sleds every where. It's 20 miles home from there for me and I felt really good...

    Oh My! OMG!

We ran into 40 miles of this today and most of our day only had a couple of tracks before ours. Total miles was 167, left at 10am, -9 degrees, home at 5pm and it was +15 degrees. Beautiful day to be out on the trails

Off trail riding on the local news

Tim, I live in Manitowish Waters and you have described the situation pretty well. Winman is 6 miles from us and very popular, even I did not realize that the snowmobile trail to PI runs through their property so I learned something today. And yes, the 5 towns of MW, PI, BJ, Winchester, and Plum...

Road closure around the LDF reservation

Not if you are an American Indian......they cook a lot of meth as well and spear fish during spawning. It's in their agreement with the state.

Off trail riding on the local news

Yep, it's happening and really gaining steam up here with these off trail riders. There is another one in St. Germain, I don't know where, heard it on the news. Landowners are pissed so they will most likely not grant permission next year. The losers don't care, they just go somewhere new and...

    Vilas 1/30 Ride

Left Manitowish at 10am this morning, -14 degrees, fingers a little cold to start with, rode to BJ, south to Sayner, over to St. Germain, down to Lake Tomahawk, lunch at the Shamrock, west to Hazelhurst, northwest of Minocqua up to 17 and then 10 east to 8 which brought us back into MW about...

Epic GPS fail? Or just plain stupidity…

Last week saw a car half way up a trail on a hill with a bunch of sledder trying to get him out. The sign at the bottom of the hill says "Road Closed, take Diamond road" right in the middle of the road at the bottom of the hill. It is a road that is closed in the winter to accomodate the trail.

Eagles dominated a good defense and made them look silly, didn't see that one ending that way.

    When you ride in town

If I am reading this correctly, you are a landowner and this is why landowners close trails, if I had this happening everyday I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have as much patience as you do after hearing that is is constant day by day and into the night. After re-reading the post I guess the issue is...
