Here’s an updated snow cover map. Keep in mind these totals were taken before a lot of the lake effect snow had time to settle. A foot of system snow in Sconnie is a way better base for trails than 2 feet of blower in the yoop, which has to cover up the rocky terrain.

While I do agree about forecast models far out in advance (10+ days), when I posted the totals it was only a handful of days out ore less, and both models were dead on in agreement, which is rare, so my optimistic mind said, get ready, it’s comin!!

I do recall some mister named Mezz that told me we wouldn’t see anywhere close to the totals that I shared on here :D

Here’s the snowfall reports from the NWS so far. Notice NNE Ironwood shows 27” and W Ironwood shows 9”. In all my years following snowfall this seems to be the norm.

They have double that northeast of Ironwood from Bessemer to the Porkies. Munising to Seney area, and to the north of M28 also sitting around 15-18”. NWS just shared this for additional snowfall till Sunday. GFS and Euro also showing a good amount later next week in most snow belt areas. Just...

Bingo… this is accumulation across 14 days… which could just be 2” per day and compact to 1/3 of what’s fallen over that time period (because it’s LES). THAT is the realistic truth, many see extended accumulative forecast models, 2 days later it snows and they’re like WTF we didn’t get 30” LOL

Both the Euro and GFS models are in very good agreement on the next 14 days!!! LFG
