    ONEIDA COUNTY 1-24-25

No...the high powered sleds with deeper lugs, and or studs will roto till frozen ground in a matter of two passes...we have several land owners that require us to come out in the spring, and rake /shovel out damage..including adding dirt, and replanting grass. I have seen trails where there are...

    ONEIDA COUNTY 1-24-25

You are correct abe...when I was a kid..we had the same amount of snow in central Wisconsin as we currently get in the northwoods...and the amount of snow at my grandmother's house in woodruff in December in the 1970s was unreal.. I thought maybe I was not remembering it correctly ...so we took...

    ONEIDA COUNTY 1-24-25

This right here is the problem...they cut off trail to find fresh snow when the trails turn to snirt..its too tempting...I keep hearing that oneida should have zones that can open at different times...I disagree...oneida county in general has the same amount of snow from east to west, and north...

    ONEIDA COUNTY 1-24-25

Exactly...but threatening volunteers who run the various clubs is ridiculous...the clubs are looking out for the best interest of the snowmobiling community...we can't afford to lose trails due to pissed off landowners...kind of short sighted to say "screw it, let them ride dirt"...how mad will...

Oneida County said NO to opening trails today

    ONEIDA COUNTY 1-24-25

You really can't tell from the road....it's very thin and rocky in some wooded areas by me....the base would not last long...like I said..it's a no win situation, open trails, and the businesses are happy...but you potentially lose trails that suffer damage due to low snow from pissed off land...

and there you have it....Oneida County will NOT be opening at this time

    Oneida County Update 1-23-25

We did receive a little over two inches of fluff yesterday...every little bit counts right....there is a good 6 inches in my back yard now. You really can't say this year is like last year....it's been much colder...while we are lacking in the snow department...we are not lacking ICE...the...

    Vilas County

It's a real catch 22 for the clubs....part of me as a service/parts guy for a powersports dealer (and weekend bartender) say...let them ride...dirt, snirt, whatever...I have plenty of slides, wheels, carbides, belts etc....the businesses up here need it.....but the club member in me knows...

    Oneida County update 1-16-25

Lake Nokomis is being marked today...and our trails here in the Tomahawk area are being panned, and packed....we need more snow to open...but at least you can go play out on Lake Nokomis, if you need to scratch that itch......the lake is nice right now...just watch the rock pile on the east side...

    FAKE NEWS....not true

    Vilas County

It's derby week...you can bet Vilas will open if the businesses have any say in it....thats a HUGE chunk of money miss out on if they stay closed...these guys don't care if it's thin...they'll ride dirt if they have to ...and let's be real here...that trail through eagle river gets pounded down...

    Oneida County 1-9-25...Finally something

Lake Nokomis is being marked Tomorrow and Thursday, and several other smaller lakes will also be marked......so we are ready to go when trails can be opened...we are also packing/panning what we have...so we'll have a nice base...all we need is some more snow, and we'll be off and running

    Oneida County 1-9-25...Finally something

    Vilas County

And it just keeps snowing...add another inch...puts us over 5 as well, and currently snowing sideways...temp dropping and very windy...our club also went out tonight to pack trails...this will be a nice base...just need some more...plenty of ice on the lakes here

    Oneida County 1-9-25...Finally something

Of course after I shoveled my decks off...it starting snowing again...we got another 1 1/2...so we are just over 4 inches...still lightly flurrying ...but i think it's done for the most part...what a pleasant surprise...originally a dusting to an inch expected..so four inches is nice...another...

    Oneida County 1-9-25...Finally something

We got 2 1/2 overnight...and it just started snowing again...nws saying another inch or two possible today...so we may end up with 4 plus 😁...gotta love Alberta Clippers

    Oneida County 1-9-25...Finally something

and NWS Green Bay is now saying this .... "Confidence is increasing for hazardous travel from Sunday into Sunday night due to accumulating snow." ( for north central Wisconsin)...remember they were saying only a dusting to just an inch yesterday...so they have increased snow totals in 24 hours...

    Oneida County 1-9-25...Finally something

I know, but at least it's something.....I'll take what ever we get...anything over two inches gives me some lube to run the lakes around here...I just need to get her out and burn the old fuel out of her...if that means running around the lake 100 laps...I'll do it...lol
