    2023 gardens

Tomatoes and Beans are coming in. Potatoes look good but I won't know until I dig them up. Peppers are plentiful and cucumbers are yet to form. A very dry summer. If not for daily watering, there would be nothing out there.

Smart phone plans - any good ones for occasional phone use?

Either way, you're going to have a bill every 30 days. Renew your Trac Phone or pay for cellular once a month. If it's just for winter and summer the Trac Phone would be a better choice since you'll have some down time in between seasons.

    Civil War Gold

We're in the Dead Zone for a Snowmobile Website. With temps up around 90 in the shade, it's hard to get excited over New Models, the Best Oil, and planned trips. Therefore, our interests may wander at this time of year. Some on here know that I dabble in Civil War history. I've been to several...

    Fly Like an Eagle

This will be my last post on the subject. Gotta tell ya that it's taken me a couple of days to get back to normal following the weeklong activities. It's a good kind of tired but tired, nonetheless. We weathered a couple of storms, a few days of heat and two crashes on the last full day that...

    The Perfect Up North Property

Yeah, pretty much. Wisconsin has a history of soaking those from out of state with Taxes, Fees, Licenses, etc.

    The Perfect Up North Property

I've been following this thread for a couple of weeks now and I believe that the answer to The Perfect Up North Property is whatever you make of it. From campsites to two story lakefronts, we all have different dreams, desires, and ambitions. One thing that hasn't been brought up is Property...

Four Empty Chairs It's sad to report we had two separate crashes at the EAA AirVenture today. Four dead and two injured that are in Stable Condition. The first was a crash of a T6 Trainer which crashed into Lake Winnebago and the second was a pair of small helicopters that collided in mid-air...

They're Finally Home GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - Even after arriving back home, many Vietnam War veterans found that there was no Welcome Home celebration. “Nothing, nothing. I came home to a four-month-old baby,” said one veteran. “I got off the plane in Washington, the state of Washington, and...

    Fly Like an Eagle

Today was Day 5 of AirVenture in Oshkosh. Hard to tell if attendance is up, down, or the same as last year. We should know the final figures by early next week. I can tell you that I've seen a ton of people from places from all 4 corners of the earth. I felt kind of bad for the guy from Israel...

    Fly Like an Eagle

A bit of a change-up for today's AirVenture. Instead of pictures of planes we'll be focused on the pyrotechnics of Wednesday night's Air Show. They feature two Night time Air Shows during the week. The following photos are not mine, this event occurred far past my bedtime. Many people will tell...

    Fly Like an Eagle

For those following along, Wednesday was Day 3 of AirVenture in Oshkosh. The day began with a Thunderstorm that hit about 7 a.m. and the rain came down in buckets. It's been a dry year in this part of the state so the rain is welcomed. On the other hand, being in a Thunderstorm on an airport...

Alrighty then...Day 2 of AirVenture is in the books. If you noticed the timestamp on my posting earlier, the alarm went off at 4 a.m. to start my day. I'm no fan of getting up that early, once up then I'm fine with it. So, a couple of pics from the show.... This is Warbird Alley as the sun is...

    Fly Like an Eagle

A couple of pictures from Day 1 at AirVenture in Oshkosh. Hats off to the 148th Fighter Wing of the Minnesota Air National Guard, Duluth. Post World War I. But not by much. A view of the EAA Campground from a Bell 47 Helicopter. The kind they used on episodes of TV's MASH. Interstate Hwy...
