    Auto experts: oil seepage

The mechanic today wrote the following after doing an inspection ($50). "I found some oil residual between the trans and the engine, may be rear main, oil pan or both. I would just monitor the the leak as it is slight and it can become expensive to repair. I also cleaned off the area. " He...

Good news. Everything seems to be fine. All I did was another deep flush on toilet. It takes 2 minutes to fill up now, not 10 minutes. A quick flush takes 1 minute. Not sure what the problem was........maybe something was clogged in the line.....not sure....Water pump shuts off normally. The...

Question on fill time for a toilet

Sounds good. I was gone the whole day and just got back and checked the water pump. No dampness or dripping at all, so it did not keep going off while I was away today. If the flapper was bad, wouldn't the water from the tank be lower and drip into the toilet bowl while I am away? The water...

Question on fill time for a toilet

That is a possibility. I am not going use the blue tablets anymore. This one is dissolved all the way now. I once had a sticker label on the toilet get stuck on the flapper and that caused the water pump to not shut off.

Question on fill time for a toilet

I did a deep flush on the problem toilet and that fixed the water pump issue. I will use another toilet until I get someone to come take a look at the problem toilet. It is causing issues with the water level somehow.

Question on fill time for a toilet

The water flow into the tank when flushed seems fine and fast. I have a toilet in the loft and I analyzed a quick flush. It is an old toilet over 20 years ols. All water in tank came down instantly, and the tank filled in about 90 seconds with a steady stream of water, with the water stream...

Question on fill time for a toilet

Ok, here is the situation after testing it. Regardless of what is in the bowl, a quick flush lowers the water tank by 1/3 and takes 3 minutes to fill. If I hold down the flush handle for a longer time (say 4 seconds) the water in the tank goes down almost to the bottom to and takes 12 minutes...

Question on fill time for a toilet

So holding down the flush handle longer will make it fill slower? That could be the case, as I hold it down longer so all the materials leave the toiler. I showed the plumber the picture of toilet back and he could not see anything obvious. I dont know how long to hold down the handle, do a...

EV are not cost effective at this point. We are still many years away when all of us will be driving an EV. Hertz rent a car returned all their fleet EV's because they were not cost effective.

    Auto experts: oil seepage

Marganthaler of Minocqua does my oil change and inspection every 6 months. They noticed the leak last week. They did not see anything in Decemeber for that oil change. I have put cardboard under my car in my garage and there is no drip at all on cardboard. None. But I can see some oil like...

    Auto experts: oil seepage

I talked with another garage and they are skeptical of the diagnosis. They said just keep eye on oil and keep driving until drops actually are seen on the ground. They said they can look at it for a second opinion in July, because he said he has never seen a "leak" due to a gasket.
