    Keweenaw Thaw

My pleasure, enjoy your riding! For anyone riding this weekend, even moreso than mid-winter, plan your gas & food stops accordingly. Not that there are a plethora of businesses to begin with, but some close down for shoulder season when there are very few people (tourists) around. Yesterday we...

    Keweenaw Thaw

Maybe this is a better way to summarize north of the bridge. Conditions as of yesterday afternoon: Trail 3 East Hancock to Lake Linden: Good Trail 3 Lake Linden to Delaware: Excellent Trail 3 Delaware to Copper Harbor: Excellent, with some bare spots on Brockway Trail 17 directly in Hancock...

    Keweenaw Thaw

Hemie - my primary question(s) would be: how long do you want to drive to get to riding, and how long of a ride do you want to take? If wanting to keep it a shorter day, then you'll be fine S of the bridge. Trail 3 from Mass City to Toivola (~30 miles one-way) got two groomer passes on Monday...

    Keweenaw Thaw

Yesterday, my dad came up to get his last(?) rides of the season. Rode 140 miles north of the bridge; saw eleven different snowmobilers all day - was the first tracks on some trails still at 3pm. Groomed trails were nearly all very good - excellent, while the still ungroomed side trails were...

    Mosquitos

Interesting to read all these reports, and maybe I should count my blessings in this realm - I've been out numerous times in the woods the past few weeks, either for work (mostly Dickinson & Menominee Counties) or mountain biking (Tech Trails, SoKe Trails, and Strong Falls Trails) and have yet...

UP Snowmobile Season Extended to April 2nd

For the few people who are considering riding trails this upcoming weekend, can reinforce what Indy said: Gogebic Area Grooming (Bergland), North Country (Ontonagon) and Superior (Greenland) are all leaving their trails open for the weekend. At least Gogebic has stated they'll groom through the...

twin lakes to toivola snow in the woods

I've only been out skiing and snowshoeing the past few days, so take this for what it's worth. Still tons of snow out in the woods, especially high elevation areas away from town. Really haven't lost much in the last two weeks. At this point in the year, the snow setup is nearly always related...

    Trail Access from Otter Lake

Yeah it would depend on what side of Otter Lake your are on. With trail 15 closed (which is ~4 miles away from Otter Lake), your closest trail access would be trail 3 in Donken. Probably 6-12 miles away via a mixture of plowed and unplowed roads.

Photos added to the original post. I try not to be one to complain, but that was way more work than should be required for getting photos on the Internet in the year 2022...

    Florence County, WI - 1/4

Just drove past or along numerous trails in Florence County, WI and below is a summation of what things looked like. Only thing not represented is dense conifer areas still looked a little thin. Winter Weather Advisory currently in place for 3-6 inches in the next 24 hours or so. Edit: well, I...

About 5 inches of wet heavy snow in Houghton, MI. Whatever survives the warmup should make for a great base.
