06 Polaris Fusion 600 - problems?

Looking at a 06 Fusion 600, wondering other than the normal stuff, what to look for with this particular sled? Anybody have or had one? How are they? I have seen a recall for fuel tank.

I have one. It's a good sled and fun to ride, but it gave me a lot of headaches early on too. If you get it, make sure all recalls are done - gas tank is one, there's a bracket that was added by the chain chase, possibly others. Most important thing is to replace the carb boots. The original ones failed early and often. Polaris did not stand by its product and recall those but instead just updated the part. I learned about this the hard way. I don't know what these are going for now, but I imagine you could get into one for a good price by now, and it's still a solid-power rider-forward "modern" sled.

Agree with Hoosier. I bought one new in 06. Loved the ride and the handling. Great power for a 600 carb sled. I had trouble with it being hot, and had to use scratchers often, but that wasn't a typical problem with those. I think it was just mine for some reason. You should be able to go to a Poo dealer and take the VIN and have them check if the updates were done. Was a throttle cable update as well I think, along with the chain case bracket (the plastic cover warped), and the fuel tank filler neck. I think you'll really like the ride.

Thanks for replies. Yep Carb Boot, Polaris had problems on a lot of their sleds with those. I may try one, like indy said, there are some out there at reasonable prices.

I have a 06 Fusion 600, bought it as a dealer left over. All the recall stuff was done or was done shortly after I bought it. The boots delaminated when I took off the carbs to clean them the first time. Polaris replaced them for free. Make sure the sled is rejetted once it is broken it to liven it up. It comes with 420 mains which would load up and not be crisp. I dropped down to 400 mains, however I have preimum now if I am going to really get on it or the DET like will come on. BTW, I get 15 mpg when cruising with it on club rides. When I am riding hard, I don't know and I really don't care so long as I don't run out of gas!

I bought mine new in the fall of 2005. The gas tank, chain case cover plate and carb boots were only issues. I have 6000 miles on it and will always keep it for a back up/wife sled. I have had a 2008 switchback dragon, 2009 assault and 2012 Switchback assault and i can say with 100% certainty that the fusion chassis is a much warmer riding sled. The IQ and proride are much colder overall. I am not complaining about being cold, but stating another advantage of the Fusion. I think you will be very pleased with the sled. Good Luck!!

I own a 06 600 Fusion. Very nice sled, fun to ride, have all up dates done. Never had any problems. Need to change carb. boots before winter. Steers alittle harder than my Crossfire.

What length Crossfire do you have? How does it compare to the Fusion? Just curious as in the back of my head I keep coming back to finding say a 2010 or 2011 Crossfire for my next sled.

2007 crossfire EFI 800 136" track. Handles and rides very nice bought it for the wife she has trouble running the gas lever on the Fusion the carb. springs are to strong for her. It also steers to hard for her. Of the 2 sleds I like the Crossfire best.

I 2nd the Xfire and a 10 11 160 hp not to shabby
if looking in to the xf6 it still ran the questanable 07/08 dimond drive all the way to 11
but with any yr xf6 when u get board with the power of the 6 any f7/m7/xf7/jugs will bolt on add a boondocker or a 06 ecu and u get a 21hp bump
