Diamond drive failures

The biggest problem with the DD is the fact that they use bearings from china. When are we (USA) going to quit buying overseas junk built by sweat shop slave labor. Their metalurgy is inferior, their engineering is inferior, their assembly processes are inferior and their quality control is a joke.
I will gladly pay more up front for good quality made in the USA parts. By using china junk we not only end up paying more in the long run because of component failure, we weaken our great nation with every purchase. I'm glad my life is more than half over so I don't have to watch the total demise of this nation. Come on America it's time to take a stand. Buy American when ever possible, and when its not, ask yourself "do I really need it?"

If we stop buying their crap their economy will return them to a third world country once more. Did we forget they're communists, if for no other reason we should stop doing business with them for that reason.

I've personally witnessed the rise and fall of Detroit, and the USA simply because of foriegn competition. We can make a difference, starting in 2012 vow to make a difference in the USA by buying American Made, you might just save your own job.

God Bless the USA

Now I'll get off my soap box, thanks.

I'm pulling my DD off now(07 XF 800 reverse) and got all bolts off. DD doesn't seem to want to come off chasis.
Does the reverse stuff need to come off, I am assuming that is the shift lever on the top right?
Didn't want to try and force it off not knowing if I need to some how disconnect that top lever?

No, i have that off it's on the other side. It must be the shift lever? Looks like there is a clip on the top of it? I don't think the DD just drops off that lever? Thinking I have to take that reverse stuff off that's by the left foot to get to the clip? Thanks

Now you guys have me concerned about my DD on my F6. All I've ever done is change the lube. Never tore into it.

rkw, I could not have said it any better myself!

09 and up its the Bering...5203 was replaced with 6203? I belive that was the part# as for the 08 it seems to me it was the gear itself.....when i pulled mine apart the gear had 2 welds that held gear onto shaft them welds were cracked and ready to go.......BDX gears are one piece the Bering's where all good cpl had dead spot in em!!!

I got it off, just wasn't sure if it all comes out in one piece with the shift lever and actuator. It does.
First look, it appears everything is good. It was cleaner than I expected. It's 07 with 5000 miles. I haven't pulled everything apart yet, but will tomorrow.
