If it was then how does Minnesota groom 16,000 miles of trails compared to our 6,000 and only charge $30 every two years?.
MN trails are nowhere near as good as MI...

Lets say your family has 4 sleds that's $180 just to ride. Would you have a problem then?
That is at Chicago prices. a bottle of crown here is about $20 more. PR1 aka the bootlegger. lolYou can't put a price on fun !! Look at it as one less 1.75 ltr bottle of Crown Royal and have a Merry Christmas !! Seems to be lots of disgruntled people this year ! about any little thing !! must be the economic recovery taking place !! View attachment 28022
I've got 5 sleds and payed for the trail permits for this year. I ride in Michigan and a little in Wisconsin. Its what you have to do to do the things you like to do.
and yes, I buy a Wis. permit when I cross into Hurley each winter..

I understand that we pay thousands of dollars in trailers sleds and trucks. But you keep all those things for several years and when you sell them you recover much of your money back.
I think the reason so many people are so upset about $45 for a pass is because once you pay it it's gone.
Also if the price went up during a bull economy not as many people would care. But raising the cost 80% in two years during the deepest recession in our lifetimes is just a slap in the face.

Jesse9131;252741 Also I haven't called names unless I was being attacked personally. [/QUOTE said:Actually Jesse, in your first post right out of the box, you called everyone pinheads. I think that pretty much set the tone for the responses to you.
Personally, I think every one of your points are very weak and your claims of the MI trail permits going to 100 or 130 or more are just made up out of nothing, but that is my opinion and only that. I have no problem with you being upset about the cost of trail permits, but the costs were needed. If you were a participating member of a club that grooms the trails, you would know this.
I have yet to see you make a solution to the problem, only bitch about it. Remember, if you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem. Just like the Occupy Wall Street Crowd.

John, why is the time on your server two hours ahead of CST? I have been noticing the time difference the last couple of days. Did your server forget about switching back to standard time or don't you guys in the UP observe Daylight Savings?
