Maybe in the UP but we don't all live up there I am near Kalamazoo and will have to pay $45 for trails not worth riding for $35.

I had the chance two years ago to ride in the mountains of Colorado and never wanted to leave and I have rode several hundred miles near Munising. And their trail pass is $30.

Lets say your family has 4 sleds that's $180 just to ride. Would you have a problem then?

I've got 5 sleds and payed for the trail permits for this year. I ride in Michigan and a little in Wisconsin. Its what you have to do to do the things you like to do.

and yes, I buy a Wis. permit when I cross into Hurley each winter..

Well Jesse.

I think all you have proven in just about all of your arguments is that you have no plans to EVER change your mind, even when confronted by facts. You can believe what you want, but the truth is there for all to see.

As far as other states having lower trail permits, it just means they get you in other ways. Some states do it through higher gas taxes, some though room assessment fees, etc...

As far as it being too expensive, that is totally an opinion and you are certainly entitled to it. No arguments there, but you might want to try and understand that others may have opinions that differ from yours and are just as entitled to theirs as you are to yours and calling persons names just makes you look like a child.

So I guess we can all stop trying to enlighten you because you already know it all. Have fun in CO.

I'm just afraid it's going to turn into a sport only rich people can enjoy. In Canada it's $130 for a pass it's likely we are close behind. The cost has went from $25 to $45 in 2 yrs. that's an 80% increase do that again and were at $81. It won't be to long if defeatests just except it.

The Defeatest will never be talked out of their convention, so don't bother with them. The Tactician is very useful, but only if working with a Strategist.

I wasn't aware that fuel is more expensive in WI,MN,or CO but if you have information on that I'd be happy to take a look. Also I haven't called names unless I was being attacked personally. I understand that others have differing opinions and respect them for that. But that doesn't mean I won't try to get them to see more clearly.

Personally I think more people are going to be upset the more time goes by and we don't get snow.

The thread probably would end if we would stop arguing with someone that will never see anyones different point of view. No point in trying to change someones mind if they are not willing to listen, really listen, to someone else. Kinda like talking to the wall.

I understand that we pay thousands of dollars in trailers sleds and trucks. But you keep all those things for several years and when you sell them you recover much of your money back.

I think the reason so many people are so upset about $45 for a pass is because once you pay it it's gone.

Also if the price went up during a bull economy not as many people would care. But raising the cost 80% in two years during the deepest recession in our lifetimes is just a slap in the face.

Actually Jesse, in your first post right out of the box, you called everyone pinheads. I think that pretty much set the tone for the responses to you.

Personally, I think every one of your points are very weak and your claims of the MI trail permits going to 100 or 130 or more are just made up out of nothing, but that is my opinion and only that. I have no problem with you being upset about the cost of trail permits, but the costs were needed. If you were a participating member of a club that grooms the trails, you would know this.

I have yet to see you make a solution to the problem, only bitch about it. Remember, if you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem. Just like the Occupy Wall Street Crowd.

John, why is the time on your server two hours ahead of CST? I have been noticing the time difference the last couple of days. Did your server forget about switching back to standard time or don't you guys in the UP observe Daylight Savings?

Actually, I think that is something on your end. My times look good. You can scroll to the top of any board page, click on settings, then on the left, click on general settings, scroll down to where it says your time zone and make the correction there.
