If you had a crystal ball, when do you think the best time to buy a leftover 16? I'd like to move up this year, not sure if new or used. I never ride in December, so I could wait past then.

In Fall of 2008 Yamaha had lots of 2007 Apex long & short and anniversary 2008s sitting in the ware house so the pie got pretty sweet in December on 08s & 07s when 2009s were coming down the pike. I bought new non current 2007 Aepx Attak in December boiled down to $1,000 -1,200 difference between 08s & 07 no matter what dealer. I don't recall Doo doing that but did get aggressive last Feb with non currents knowing Rev4 and 850 would be released. I would buy non current late October before snow flies living in Vilas dealers can stiffen knowing it will snow here sometime soon. In flatland prolly could wait longer but does $1-200 make that much difference when supporting your dealer of choice?

Yes, please do share info on dealers with leftover 15's/16's. 4 stroke's or 600 E-TEC interest me. Kind of set on a Doo, but looking at a great deal on a Pro-S in MN as well.

I know center sports had some 15 600s and pro power had 15 and 16 doo and poo. st boni had some 16s and I think a few 15s but he wont give anything away he prob is considering them collectors items now and charging a extra 20% oon top of msrp. was out shopping with a bud last mo and there were really no incentives out there he went used with that money burning a hole in his pocket

Looking at the above used sled for the wife...what's your experience with how many miles these 600's go before you need to refresh the top end? Piston's/Cylinders. Debating if I want to take a chance or just buy something new. Real life experiences wanted. Thx

Put her on a Power steering Apex with a big windshield and try to keep up....no worries about a top end freshen up ever.

any guy who puts his wife on an APEX should be divorced

LOL! She has been on an Apex, and didn't dislike it, unfortunately my back couldn't stand getting it on shop dollies at the end of a 150 mile day. Never again

Yea I hear ya

I will say i enjoyed my time spent on an apex, but would think not many females in this world would like it, you must have a 1%er

Power steering pretty sweet 2011 & up Apex XTX or Se with Snow Trackers world of difference from pre 2011 no power steering Apex. Buy very true heavy to lift with snow packed in the rear but ok for me to horse around trailer and I'm pushing 70. I don't trailer much just park my sled on bumper jack then ride whenever I want after warm up so weight doesn't matter very much to me. Living in Vilas 4s snowmobiling like a car gas & go no worries.

I've never seen anyone defend a product so vociferously - like any criticism is taken personally. This thread wasn't about Yamaha, check the title.

there are doo and poo dealers in my parts still sitting on 15s 1 cat dealer by home still sitting on 14s still country cat selling 13s . once the fall incentives hit used market will be chit.
I would sell my stuff pretty cheep right now because I know I can get 16s cheep now.

Cats..he he, Kens in Little Chute, WI always seems to have the past four years of new Cats DIRT CHEAP for sale in the beginning of the season and nobody wants them. That says something to me.
I saw a few new non X 2016 Ski-Doo 600 Renegades for $9,200 even though they were $8,995 at the end of the 2016 snow season. Will your wife really want a X with the shock valving? My suggestion is the Adrenaline with normal gas shocks, I loved mine last year and I am 6'3 300 lbs and bottomed it few times (except when riding the grade in Munising).

what it says is they sell enough current models to qualify to by out of salvage. they come with a 90day warr and no incentives and no financing through schfield. they don't make much off them but they make big margins on non current gear parts and accessories out of salvage.
u say no one wants them but I also watch to see what countery and kens has in bargain buys and they turn a lot of units.
only new cat sleds I buy are bargain buy units deals not near as good as they were just a few yrs back . **** back in the day I could fill a 4 place from salvage through my black magic racing account for the cost of 1 new modern 600

Nothing at all taken personally on my behalf here it is & how it goes...What can anyone say that is new that is critical of Apex and who cares???...lol.... Freaking old heavy tech for sure but everyone has their favs.. I like all the brands... owned them all same as you ..Yams are very heavy to horse around but an old fart like me can manage just fine....power steering is sweet but if a rider never tried it no idea how nice eps is just following the conversation lead by you & others... Go back & look others took your topic to Apex not me just the way it flowed you said no interest in Viper but you do have interest in 4s... Ok will keep that in mind when I'm shopping sleds around Vilas. The 16 Gade 600 is a sweet sled handles great runs great for a 2s. Doo has a fabulous 16-17 product line 18 will be much better more gen 4 sleds...saw them all at Sneak Peek in Wausau and good for you if you buy 1 as excellent sleds for your wife or anyone riding Vilas trails as you both do. If I only rode groomed trails in Vilas a 16 gade 600 would be on my shopping list too but not a 17.. not worth the new dollar difference for old tech about to change in 18. You turn sleds over so much with low miles I'm surprised you buy anything but 2s sleds. Me I keep them on average 5 years with big miles so 4s is best for my use unless doo 850 longevity is the real break thru deal for 2s increased engine life. If so I'll switch to doo 850 too join the light weight crowd but will wait and see for now.

20/28- whatever total clicker's front/rear (too lazy to look), we would find a setup that works, but I'd ride it too. Not happening anyways, they are waaaay out to lunch on asking price. Dead deal - going to MN to buy new Pro-S or Indy 8 with warranty. Thanks for all the help

I'd go with the pro S that suspension is awesome on the moguls. My regular riding partners little brother got one. He only had a few days of riding experience before last year. I brought him with me on a couple rides. Didn't tell anyone of his limited experience. When we did tell them they were completely surprised. That's how good of a ride it is makes a newbie look like he'd been riding for years.*
No comparison to an indy. Only reason to go indy would be cost.

Just read Polaris said Indy not such a big seller unit wise as I thought not a big big niche for entry level their core wants a better sled. Learn something new everyday? How is your leg?

Yamaha 4 stroke 1%ers put 50% of all of the UP miles on. My wife loves hers and will go 200 miles a day without a gripe. i guess worrying about when your 2 stroke will decide to leave you is easier than sliding a sled around in a trailer, but I'm not sure how or why?
You could hire a helper monkey to move your sled a couple a inches for less than a engine rebuild.....LMAO!

Yamaha....gas and go with NO worries!...try to keep up!

BOOHOO!, YOUHOO!....when do you guys think my 2 stroke will blow the fak up???? What day do they normally blow up on?...I just need to plan this schit out so my wife don't have to walk too far!

I see someone worried about the well known eventual 2 stroke engine failure. I'll help my way, you tell us your stories...it's all good.

The question of "when will my 2 stroke will fail" is well known and amusing at the same time.

I don't know 10 or 11k mi if I don't mess with it? BFD I get a new ride every 2 or 3 yrs most hard core guys do . even if I only have 2 or 3k on a ride I still want a new shiny toy to bounce off the trees.
