1997 indy 500 headlight issue

Was hoping for some help with a headlight issue I HAVE WITH A INDY 500 . Have put 3 headlights in and have blown 3 low beams...those of you familiar with the situation know that this sled has 3 bulbs two for high beam one for low...everything else is fine but keeps blowing on the low beam H4 bulb 60W high 55W low...sometimes when it is started...sometimes when switching from low to high and vice versia....has to be a short somewhere but everything else works and the wires and harness appear fine...I do not have a voltage meter to check output but cant seem to find problem....at this rate bulbs are going to get expensive.... any help would be appreciated...
have another issue with 99 indy 500 with reverse when reverse engaged rev light does not light up...tried simple things like bulb but working bulb does not work in rev light place...
I HATE ELECTRICAL ISSUES...they are so hard for a simpleton like me to find and more important FIX

Check headlight "switch" Behind the little blue button, very popular problem in gen 2, & aggresive chassis. Not sure about the reverse light. Usually have to replace the switch for the headlight, sometimes you can get away with a "thorough" cleaning. But it will come back.

not sure if you are talking about the dimmer switch or something behind the blue colored high beam indicator lthat lights up when on high and unlighted on dim? 97 has dimmer switch that is black plastic not one swich with controls for warmers with as well.... that was my edge which by the way had to changed as highs would not work but dims would replaced the switch good as new...is that what you are talking about? not sure what you mean?

Get the volt meter out and check voltage.
you may have enough load on high beams to
save the bulbs, but not enough on low beam.

Now it blew out the high beam as well...rode it across the yard and switched to high beam as no bulb in the low cuz it blew out....so went to try high... switched the dimmer and they blew out. it completely blew one of the high beam bulbs apart! has to be getting too many volts in the head lights as everything else is fine! the little bulbs that light the dimmer switch, the brake light in the speedo the light that lights the speedo and tach and heck even the brake light works plus the light for the hand and throttle warmer...just the headlights are the issue! dont have voltage meter but getting one!

i've had 93 indy trail, 99 indy 500, 99 xc 700, 99 xc sp 700 and all of them have needed new voltage regulators, after buying 2 new ones for the first 2 sleds, then just bought $20 used ones for the 700's

thats what im getting one for $20 bucks....hey any idea why my rev light on a 99 indy 500 will not light...bulb works as I put it into a high -low spot and it light fine but will not light when rev is engaged...no big deal just one of those things I would like to work since its there...know what I mean?

is it the blub on your console? (aka speedo/tach?) That might not light up because it might not be hooked up at all. 99 Indy 500's dont come stock with reverse so there might not be electrical connections for it.
