2 inch track on a xc?

Anybody do it? I know indy_500 does. I would assume I would need to notch it, correct? Smaller drive coggs?

I have stock cogs and no notching. It just BARELY knicks the heat exchangers but shouldn't be a problem as it wears down quickly.

Good to hear, I may notch them a little then, that shouldn't be to bad. I was looking for a 1.75 but when this 2" came along I wasnt sure if I would have to knock a 1/4 inch off the top or how it would work. What do you think about porting, get rid of a little weight, maybe get a little extra snow on the hifax if riding trails??

I never liked the idea of adding a bunch of holes into a track, seems like too risky of an area to lose strength but just my opinion. Best place to start losing weight is getting rid of that 1 ton exhaust can.

Your fine up to 2" track, 1/4 clearance at turn at front of tunnel, track stays clear under presure of drive cogs. Did a two inch track on my 05 switchback edge chassis no problems, left gearing stock.

Ya I just talked to a buddy that ported tracks he found it pointless too.

Good to hear the 2 in should clear. I like the sounds of that.

Just thought of something are you guys measuring the actual lug height or to the back side of the track? I always measured lug height but just talked to a guy who measured to the back side of the track?? What's correct?
