2006 Crossfire 7 electrical problem

Rode all weekend (225 miles) and then a 1/2 mile from the cabin when applying the brake and coming to a stop the headlights went dim, the speedo went dark and the taillight quit working. If the brake lever was held the sled would almost stall. Let off the brake and sled would idle fine and all lights work. Will runs down the road fine until touching the brake lever again. Any ideas?

sounds like a wire rubbed off insulation.dont remember if there is a plug for tail light under hood but check right side of sled follow harness as far as you can to try to find a plug unplug and run it sound like a positive ground.also check the ground wire on right side of sled grounded to lower bolt of steering support kinda hard to see but it is grounded there

Defiantly sounds like the positive wire for the brake light rubbed through the insulation and you have a dead short.
