they have dumped something like 85lbs off the motor with quoit allot of very expensive metals.and the dd is gone replaced with a funky new jack shaft chain case thing

yes ezra your right , I posted that too. they dropped 75 lbs off the turbo sled. Ran into some Cat guys at dinner Monday night out there.

my understanding is it is the motor alone that has the impressive weight drop not just the motor sled combo could not be fully accurate.the insider I know is not real tech oriented more along the marketing end but hears the chatter.still got me to see the line up a good 2 weeks before the rest so I cant complain.now if black magic would just reopen and get me the deals I was getting back in the day I would prob pee my self with excitement. I miss the days of 60% or more off parts and cheep cheep new sleds and cheaper "salvage'best I got was a new 1yr old 02 zl600 with a scratched hood for under 3ooo.if you get to know any one who works for cat you can prob sweet talk them in to buying you demos they sell them for build cost to employs and I think they can buy 2 a yr.most sales guys marketing guys ect buy drive a week or so and resell to supplement their income

2007 Concepts

Good looking sled from that angle, excited to see the motors!

I remember seeing some concepts when the 2007's came out, the 2012 lines look really similar to that concept if I remember right, especially the windshield peeking out over the headlight like that. Anyone else remember seeing those?

or a Titanium or Magnesium case and bolts and covers lifters ect.prob just melted down a bunch of old lawn boy decks right color any way.btw indy when you start doing kegers in the woods bring a old magnesium lawn boy deck for the bonfire

Where did you read about the DD replacement??

If cat did that, they must be having problems with the DD standing up to all that power.

the only reason they went with the DD was the reverse issue back in 03\04 they now use the motor reverse so they no longer need the DD......I belive Yamaha took the DD idea and is running with it
