does anyone have the ford 6.2 litre motor, I found a used 2013 with 28K miles however it has a 6.2 litre moter. I won't use this as a daily driver so gas milage is not the top of my list. I just wonder if its a good motor for performance and lasting for 200K miles.

They put the 6.2 in the Raptor is about 410hp stock, and with a supercharger has all the power you could want, in certain configurations almost 600hp.

I'd buy one in a heartbeat, but still have a good 2500HD that has a lot of life left.

Yeah, get ready to pay out the a$s for fuel. I saw the Raptor (6.2L) on a list of "WORST GAS GUZZLERS IN THE COUNTRY"

My father in law has one in a 250 super duty. Really loves it. He put dual exhaust on it and it has a great tone. He only uses it for hauling his truck camper and bass boat (little around town too) and he says it pulls awesome. He has had zero problems. It would be his daily driver if he didn't work out of town all the time. The raptor is a different vehicle completely from the 250SD. He didn't buy it for gas mileage so I don't know what he gets but he bought it due to the engine being soo much cheaper than a diesel (he's kinda cheap when it comes to upfront cost).

I have a 2002 GMC 1500HD with a 6.0 motor and all I use it for now is hauling stuff up to the cabin and towing the sleds. the 6.0 has been great, I'm guessing around 15 MPG but much worse when its cold. I now have 155k so time to start looking.

I have a 2011 SD Crew with the 6.2 , it is a Beast for sure. Does better on fuel than the HD I had with the 6.0 and the performance is night and day better. If you nurse it along with no trailer you can see 17 mpg . Hook it to a 8000# trailer and put your foot in it and maybe 9 mpg.

did some more research, you can order the 6.2 in any trim lever of 150 you want. Also they are dicontinuing the motor for 2015 for EPA reasons. The new 2015s with alum body will be approx 750 lighter than the current trucks.

"Due to EPA reasons" = It was a gas hog, polluting the air and they are concerned about global warming :D

There goes the EPA again!! Screwing with the good stuff we want AGAIN!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooo!!!!
yeah we cant have the motors we want because they are to dirty.
at the same time we spend 300million to build a diesel fired power plant in Afghanistan. well the Taliban will need a steady revenue stream why not get them a power plant

Yea I heard that but I didn't want to post something false and be the first one wrong. The raptor is getting the Eco boost engine I believe...sick trucks IMO, but I would rather go with a diesel. Fuel prices seem to be a little more constant and I love the sound of a straight piped turbo.
