I'm getting ready to long track(136) my '13 Indy 600. I need to choose between a Ripsaw and a Ripsaw II. Anybody have any experience they can share about the differences between the two???? Thanks in advance.

I can just repeat what I've heard on the internet, so I'll hold off. I'd talk to TracksUSA, assuming that's where the extension is coming from. When I've talked to them before, it's clear they know their tracks.

I would skip both and opt for a cobra. If you plan to ever leave a trail ripsaw just trenches. Otherwise great trail track.

Go with the 144 tip up from tracks usa. I did this to my sled and loved it. I run mainly on trail. Sacrafice some lug for to save your slides. That or run some scratchers.

One thing I always explain to people to put track length into perspective is this: Your 1980's Indy snowmobile had a 121 inch track with 4 or 5 inches of travel. Today your new Indy with 10+ inches of travel and it still has a 121 track. This gives you a much smaller foot print. A sled of today with a 136 probably has the same footprint of a 121 from the old days. A 136 is a great trail sled. If your going to venture off trail go with a 144 tip up rail, which still does great on the trail.

I don't think the ripsaw II is anything like the original ripsaw.

I do see a decent amount of 144" cobra take-offs on hcs for sale. Might be the way to go to save a few bucks.

There are quite a few Cobra's on here for sale, everyone that has a SB Assault are swapping them for a 2", they are a great track if you spend more time on trail than off.

Rakins 800,

Go with the 144 conversion and pick up a used cobra track.

I used to be a grade runner, the kind of guy that stays on the trail when my buddies are having fun in the power lines. Yeah I had fun smoking cigarettes and talking about how fast my snowmobile was, but I missed out on fun stuff.

So I went from a 121 on a 2010 IQ shift to a 144 with the tracks usa extension kit and a cobra track bought from someone on this website. Man, did that make a big difference. It didn't handle quite as well on the trail. It pushed a little bit in the corners, but overall was a better snowmobile

I totaled that sled ditch banging in Carey, WI. My cousin nudged me into the sticks and I had to claim it. Now I have a 2012 Assault 144. Wow, this thing handles well. Like it's on rails.

Long story short, you'll like the extension. Go with the 144 you won't regret it.
