2013 Sleds

I have a felling you will see at least 2 new motors from ski-doo so if undecided about a 1200 4 stroke maybe you want to wait alittle longer :)

No that sounds good something with a turbo maybe? I heard doo has a higher hp ACE too.

Polaris better do something with the 4s....................................................

Probably can buy used FST cheap maybe mspease old sled?

Speaking of cheap FST's, here's one for $3995:

For Polaris to come out with something new in a 4-stroke, they'll need a new chassis as well? Poo rep says no 4-stroke in a Pro-Ride chassis.

Only a few months to find out what the manufacturers have coming, hoping it is more than just BNG, but with the way this winter is so far, wouldn't be surprised.

Go look at the used 800 doo's for sale right here on this site. I counted 7 for sale on the first page and 4 had to be rebuilt with less than 5000 miles. They range from 2006 to 2009 models. They must have all just gotten bad gas..
Oh, and why are all the first run 800etec's getting new top ends? Nothing suspect there either...
I'm not bashing Doo, its all I ride but they need to get this stuff figured out before they put it out..

Not gonna get in a pissing war about it. THere are many reasons a top end might be rebuilt, and unless you know the situation of each one, it's an unfair statement. To say that over 50% (You stating I was in the minority) of all delivered 800's between 04 to present were crap engines just doesn't hold water. To each their own opinion, but just because you read about some users frustrations on line doesn't default to it being "all encompassing". All I will say is that between some of the close friends I ride with, we've all run the 800's since 03. (I've had 3). My buddies combine for another 5. Out of the 8....., 1 had a blow up at over 4k, and that was the 2003. If you want an opinion of someone that's seen hundreds of these sleds in and out of his shop over the year, call my neighbor Big John. (Sledhead Racing). He mods and services doos only, is well connected with the mountain and flatland community, whose words about this will carry more weight than any of us posters out there on forums. As mentioned above, to each his own.

Sorry for the hijack. I won't comment on this again.

Doospunk is right about BJ. He knows his stuff about pretty much any skidoo motor in the last 20 yrs!

My $.02 is with the weather and the economy being what it is the manufatures would be foolish to put money into product they won't be able to sell. If there are changes it will only be on the high end side and sales volume will be minimal. The average guy doesn't have the money, and even the rich guys are thinking twice before plunking down money on a $12K sled they can only use a few times a year. A lot of the people I know with money to spend on toys will buy a new ATV or pontoon before a snowmobile after the year we"re having. Myself, I never buynew anyway, but when ya look at paying $12K and making payments for 12 months before you get to use it I wouldn't want to be in the business of trying to sell sleds to make a living

Can't stop progress if OEMs are going to release new stuff which they do every year it's coming soon. Agree I would never get in sled biz but happy some do.

Sorry, sold mine with over 11,000 miles on it for $3,400 a couple of months ago.

I agree that you don't hear near as much about Ski Doo's issues as you did when Polaris was having issues with their 800. Reminds me of how the media treats a liberal vs. a conservative.

I'm guessing a new chassis from Ski Doo in 2013 and something new from Yamaha. They need a new platform or at least a couple offerings in the 2s market. I don't think people are moving to 4s's as quickly as some had thought. The OEM's plan their next year's releases way in advance, not now after they would know the snow year is bad. They've known what's coming for 2013 for well over a year.

After early end to season last year & slow start this year. Non currents will be the best buy except Yam as pipeline is very thin but some Yam 2011s still available but plenty of other brand non currents with doo leading the pack from what I have seen in stock.

There are very few non-currents in our area. The dealers have had OK sales the last couple of years and had a good preseason this year. The mfg's have all of the 2013's planned and ready to roll out I am sure, a bad year would affect them two or three years down the road, not the next year. It is hard to get excited about next years models when I only have 55 miles on this year,
