2016 sleds

I agree on the riding part. Unless ur names snowblder i could care less.

Not insecure at all. But not gonna listen to the bs, hogwash posted without defending it. Like ive mentioned i was keeping my 15, the product is so good, and with the new upgrades keeps "team yellow" moving foward. ;) :) :) ;)

It's hard to argue that Doo doesn't offer something competitive for every kind of rider. I'm in no position to spend big bucks on a sled. It would be nice if they added some kind of basic fuel injection to the sport model and kept it price competitive, sort of what Poo does with the Indy. I like the idea of that sled but not sure I want to deal with carbs. I could go used again but with the prices these days, I'm scared of buying someone else's problems.

Since you are obviously a little bit of a team yellow cheerleader - what's your take on the sealed crank bearings on the e-tecs? Can they last 10k miles or is that a time bomb?

They have lasted past 10k in many instances. They have also failed. For me some due diligence or PM goes a long ways. If i owned an etec with over 7000 miles, i would probably be spending the time or money to at least inspect the bearing and seals and measure the crank runout. If they need to be repacked then so be it.

I have never seen one personally fail. And we have had north of 15 etecs run thru the group probably north of 20 actually. The worst issue i seen with an etec was a water pump fail in a 2011 600 with north of 5k miles. Is it a concern for high mileage etecs, yes. The crank quality i would say tho the last 3 years from doo has been dramaticaly improved. Things that when you think ur getting BNGs dont see. Also the 800etec has been improved every year since its intro. I have never seen an 800 twin vibrate as little as the 2015 800etecs. There are 3 in our group and they are all the same. Am i loyal to the brand that has treated me so well for so long, yes.

Also its tuff to comapare poos fuel injection to the etecs. For one the ecu of an etec is extremly powerful. Which isnt cheap. It can do north of 2 million calculations per second based on the readings of multiple sensors. For that reason alone the etec is too expensive to put into the sport chassis. It would cripple the x and xrs sales. Never happen until a generation 2 etec comes out.

Over all I like the new colors on the skidoo's. I wonder how the backcountry is going to be accepted with a 146x1.6 cobra track? I feel 137x 1.75 powder max was and is the perfect flat land boondockin track. If I wanted a 146 Id just get a summit, there cheaper too. But what do I know

I was suprised as well they did this. The BCX seemed like a perfect crossover. U still have the freeride 137. But i was considering getting a bcx as my next sled. Dont think i want it anymore. I would love to try a 146 r motion tho.

I thought the same thing just buy a summit. But you cant buy a X package summit with a 146in track, have to get a freedride of a summit sp, which sucks. I was a little disappointed with what they showed last night. Now just can't decide if I want to blow my money on a 146 freedride or a 146 summit sp, which are the same colors as last year, ***?

But did they really introduce anything new? Or just rearrange some models. Come up some new names, colors and configurations of things? Not bashing but is there a single new tech offered anywhere in the line up? I'm Really asking because I don't see it? Just different options with all the same part numbers is what I see. Putting a different track in a sled they already make, changing the name and color doesn't make it innovative.

Good info. For the fuel injection for a more entry level sled, I was thinking more along the lines of a simpler system, like what Cat has used for at least a decade in the firecats, etc. You might not get all the advantages of direct injection with MPG's and oil usage, but at least your performance isn't impacted with temp and elevation changes. I had carb issues in the extreme cold last week in Wawa and the other sleds that are injected didn't have any issues. Maybe the answer is to put an ATAAC on the sport engine. Just be nice is entry level performance didn't mean carb.

All the Doo guys thought they were getting a big bore. They got a snowboard rack and a zebra seat instead LOL.

I'm really starting to like the styling on the Polaris and the chassis have come a long way. Dream machine would be the 2016 Switchback Pro-X with the 600 E-Tec.
Still holding onto my 2010 XP chassis since i've never had a sled so dialed to my riding style. Spent some good time making adjustments and afraid to lose that. May add the RAS-2 front kit to mess around and keep things interesting.

The 2016 Enduro is tempting, but not 13k tempting:)

The 2016 Ski-Doo Renegade Enduro is aimed at high-mile adventure riders.

The Enduro comes in the REV-XS chassis with a 137- by 1.25-inch Ice Ripper XT track surrounding the rMotion rear suspension, plus the adjustable Pilot TS skis. On the rear arm of the rMotion is the Air Ride Suspension shock previously only found in the GSX and Grand Touring lineup. Utilizing an on-board compressor controlled by buttons on the handlebar, riders can add or subtract air from the air spring bladder remotely and on the fly.

The Enduro also includes a large front bumper, 12 volt power outlet, heated visor outlet, electric start and a big, wide window and unique clay brown side panels. The Renegade Enduro will be available with the 600 and 800 E-TEC packages as well as with the 900 ACE and 1200 4-TEC.

No GPS available in the factory gauge yet? No LED headlight standard? If they aren't going to make a major chassis change you would think they could do these things. Maybe I missed those things said. I thought for sure they were going to make a chassis update last year.

Yeah so the ice can really build up on the headlight. You really think it is a good idea to have led headlight? Just like the stop lights. Next step design heaters for the led lights lol

Would also like to decide on my own gps rather than be stuck with some POS that the manufacture gets cheap from a manufacturer.

Have you tried out the new LED factory light on the Axys? Once you have one you'll never go back. You have no idea what you're talking about, there is no ice build up at all. The factory gauge with GPS from Polaris is the best gauge in the business. How much have you used one? You can control everything from the left hand controls. I guess unless Ski Doo does it first it's no good.
