Plus, unlike other lower cost entry level sleds, these actually look cool!

agree...someone posted that they heard the 200cc sleds were selling well. I have to think that if they are, it is parents skipping the 120's, waiting a year or 2 and making the 200cc sled the 1st sled. They have no other use than a private property ride.

Nice to see the manufacturers thinking about entry level riders again. After so many years of concentrating on the mountain segment and "who has the fastest sled" segment they have over priced sleds to the point where for a lot of us it is no longer possible for snowmobiling to be a family sport unless you buy old iron. I would like to see more emphasis on this family aspect of our sport as I think it shines a better light on us and allows younger riders to get comfortable with riding before they move up to a more powerful machine. Kudos to polaris for this!

I like the price, too bad it doesn't have a coded key like skidoo to control hp output. Hopefully the other oem's follow

It has something

JUST-RIGHT PERFORMANCE AND FUN
The proven Polaris 550cc fan-cooled engine delivers just the right amount of power for new riders.

Speed is electronically controlled to a maximum of 50 mph.

An accessory kit is available to make additional power available as a rider’s skills develop. <----------- Probably not as convenient as the code key though.

The smooth and consistent throttle response gives a rider confidence-inspiring control.

Available with or without electric start.

It's a tapered block of maple with a cool logo and a small roll of duct tape that goes under the flipper.

J/K....love what Poo did here....Just hope they don't gouge on the "accessory" cost

Well said.

I think this is gonna be a home run for Polaris. The usefulness of the YamaCat's is so limited.....I see the market for the EVO being way bigger/more diverse

Yep, the Freestyle. Doo thought they would create a segment but it flopped as heavy discounted leftover higher end models were a few dollars higher. Depreciation of the entry level sleds was actually higher than buying a leftover higher end sled in the end.
When you are in Marketing and have no good ideas, you buy yourself time by rolling out any idea even if they are flops as the marketeer that tries nothing is fired sooner than later.

Been that way for 3, 4 years now. Hard to find. EVO is a good idea to get the young riders started. Imo, EVO a much better buy than the Scoot. But the huge inventory of left over new sleds is going to effect how many Poo can sell. It won't ever be a huge market, not even in the best of times.
