I also have a place in St G..... I used to run my GMC pickup north all the time, but a few years ago (2014) I bought a chevy cruze (40mpg) to do the running north now and leave my truck up there..... I call the cruze my hillbilly pickup..... nice to go north and back on 12 gallons of gas.....

I'd love to do that except I'm a carpenter/Builder and always like to have my tools on hand. I built my place 10 years ago and always have projects going on and some maintenance as I rent it out during the summer months so there's always things to do. I'm slowly building a second set with the older ones I have but still struggle to be without the tools. One of these days I'll stop tinkering and just hire someone! LOL

The GM interior is kind of boring compared to the competition. Im going through the same thing right now, it's hard to pull the trigger with the price of these trucks. Very little for discounts and rebates right now as well. I was looking at Ford HD trucks, very few on the lots and most are asking MSRP

You should have bought a month ago.....you would have had at least $10k of on any of the day 2020 gmc sierras or denali pick ups. This is on the 1500 series...

If you are a Costco member that can save You a lot of money and also September and October are a real good time to buy a previous model year between Costco and go rebates I saved close to 20%. But that was last year when there was a large stock of vehicles and it was the Chevy blazer. But seem to apply to most manufacturers this time of year.

Update: I went with the AT4 1/2 ton 3.0 Diesel and love it so far. I have around 8000 miles on it already. Plenty of get up and go, you can even choose the "sport" mode option if you want. I just leave it in standard mode and its pretty darn quick. The mileage is around 20 city and 25 highway best I have gotten was 30 mpg, but I drive a little on the aggressive side. Super quiet, doesn't even sound like a diesel. All in all I'm real happy with it. Just thought I'd update incase someone cares. LOL

I probably save $300-350 in fuel per month from my 2013 3/4 ton 6 liter gas I traded in. so although theres the cost of the DEF I'm still way ahead.

well congrats on the new truck to you, modern diesel trucks are a LOT better than they ever were
coul;d do without the emission crap, I agree, I think its over kill on many levels as to other things out there!
but I love my current diesel truck, added costs, and all
its a joy to drive and gets me way better mpg's than any other truck like it I have owned so far, off setting many of the premium costs of owning one!

AND for how much DEF fluid a modern pick up uses, its not a big deal, and as far as prices going up, there going up on all fuel types, face it its going to suck no matter what you drive if the new leader gets his way! IMO
