Aftermarket Bars for Summit - 2-3 inch Rise

I have a set of 8 inch Mahler billet aluminum risers on my Summit and want to stretch to 10 or 11 inches. Mahlers are no longer made so that is not an option. I have to replace on hand warmer, so I am thinking of switching to a new bar with a rise to it to give me another 2 to 3 inches. Does anyone have any experience and recommendations for bars for a Summit with that rise? Thanks!

I have read where a number of folks liked the Mini's. My research showed that with riser bars there have been some concerns over the bars moving in the riser block due to the leverage that results from the rise in the bar. A fellow Doo Talker recommended changing the steering post to the 440 racing post and you get 2 extra inches. I'll keep lookin.

I have a 3" adjustable riser that will attach to a T post and standard handle bar. Not sure if it would work for you, but if it would, it might give you some adaptability to different ridding styles.

How about swapping out the risers, and keeping the handlebars? I've got the same sled, and just went through the handlebar process this last spring. A 10" riser is nearly the same as replacing the heating elements and grips from a cost perspective, but less work. Just went through that whole thing this last spring.

You keep the original cables and harnesses? No extensions?

Yes, but good question tech. I've got the X package, so not sure if there is a difference between that and the Everest. I'd assume the harnesses would be fine, (I had to break a couple zip ties and replace them) but not sure on the brake cable. Did the Everest have the braided race cable?

Hey, these have a knurled surface down where the bar clamps down to the riser. Any customers comment to you on the bars moving in the riser block due to the leverage that results from the rise? The knurled surface keep that from happening?

I have not heard 1 complaint, if it didn't work RSI would make the change I guarantee that. Now will the Skinz bars have a better grip? Sure, but both will stay put if you tighten the bar clamps good and tight.

I like the billet risers I have and have not yet been able to find one that I like that is taller to replace. My risers have 4 bolts per side (total of 16) to hold the bars in place. My stock have never slipped. I spent a long time looking around at other risers, but none have really stood out. I have to replace one heated grip, so that is what led me down the path of changing the bars, since I have to spring for one Doo grip anyway.

Maybe trying a set of RSI is worth it.

Tech, I re-routed my brake cable to the other side of the oil reservoir to give me some additional reach. I replaced all the zip ties as well, to get the wires to look "clean" in between the billet risers.

We have the bars, heaters and grips in stock so if you decide to go with it let us know.
