I'm still serving in the Air Force, Air National Guard. Here in Ohio the state offers 100% tuition reimbursement to any university or college, you also collect the GI Bill which gives you enough money to live on while you go to school. Just something to think about if you don't want to go active duty, just remember this... the recruiters are separate, active duty vs national guard, you get the same Air Force technical training no matter which way you go.
Look at this web site,
www.airforce.com it has good information on Air Force jobs, there is just about any job the real world has, so think about what you might want to do if you get out.
Another nice thing about the AF is the deployments are not as long as the other branches, usually six months, my job as a vehicle operator we deploy allot so they offer some ninety day deployments. In my job I drive anything with wheels, we do all the vehicle tows, bus, but mostly we drive tractor trailers.
Hope this helps a bit.
