All I Want for Christmas Is....

I took a few minutes to browse on Amazon for gift ideas for the snowmobiler.
For those of us that have moved on from the Red Ryder BB Gun, here's a few hints.

Looking back over the years, I'd have to say the best, most fun thing I ever received for Christmas was our family's first snowmobile. Dad had it delivered on Christmas Eve. I doubt I slept a wink that night, couldn't wait to get out there the next morning to ride! Thanks Dad, we remember!

I got my wife a shirt like the sweatshirt that says "is my sled ok?" after her accident in Kenton, although her knee/leg will never be the same she still wears the shirt proudly LOL and I like that "everything will kill you" sign, may have to get one of those. But what I would truly like for Christmas is for my In-laws to join us at least for Christmas. Covid really put the scare into my mother-in-law and this will be the third year without having them attend ANY holidays, and I know we should honor their choice and reasoning not to, but I'm sorry I can't anymore, so if there was ONE thing I could have for Christmas it would be for them to join us and celebrate Christmas as a family once again.

How about some gawd dam snow!?! I’ve seen worse starts, but I would say 3/4 of early December’s are typically better across the north woods than what we got going on now.

Agree Indy trail condition info is sparse best I can tell 6”-8” in Lando ,ER mum Vilas in deer hunting season and going thru trail inspections all towns open at once. No reporting yet north of Lando in UP suspect not much snow down to Tomahawk WI north to the MI Les snow belt. I guess not much snow to talk about so not reporting yet. 🤷‍♂️

UP thunder riders have been out reclearing the trails sense Sunday and yesterday (Tuesday) did get the groomers out to pan and pack trails down. Some parts pretty good others not so much, definitely need snow and trails in our area will start to shape up.

All good ideas!
My 3.5 year old gets his 120 Dragon this Christmas:) I'm so excited! Probably much more than him when he gets it.
I found it last February, so I've needed to keep it hidden since then!
I do not know if I give it to him the night before, or Christmas day. I don't want Santa to get credit for that one!

According to my 2021 December calendar we had a lot more snow last year than current, like about 37". We recieved 2" of light snow this morning in Vilas and maybe have 8-10" on the ground. Not enough to even groom yet, maybe some more Friday and looks like some heavier wet stuff for next Tuesday/Wednesday. Still have time yet but need storm track to get it's act together and send a few dumps.

Didn't majority of that snow melt with that 60F day mid December? The same day some tornadoes touched down also. That was depressing...

Snow for Christmas? I hope so but realistically, if I'm riding at Christmas that's a bonus for me. Hey Santa, Think Snow!

How about a Hats Off to the UPS, Fed Ex & Amazon drivers. I've been watching them go up and down our street. Literally, running from the truck to the porches, they take a quick picture and they're off again. That's got to be a long day!

Was riding excellent vilas trails with 2+ feet of snow December 30 last year. Looks like something might happen mid next week, but these temps are warmer than normal for sure, and look to stay that way up until Dec 15-20. A lot has to happen in a hurry for that to change. Not trying to be a “whiner” as I said, there have been worse starts. Definitely bummin over here though…

No need to worry! It won't take him long to figure out who Santa is!

West end of the Iron Range of MN here. If we get 6”-12” (or whatever) out of the system next week, we should be at the bottom edge of rideable.

Was like -15 last night, so some good pockets of cold air to freeze things up.
