So, I sold my truck on Sunday for twice what i paid for it ($3200, bought it for $1600). Last wednesday I went and looked at a truck that I really liked, 00 Silverado with 115k on it. He was asking $7700. Another guy looked at it Friday, said he'd probably buy it and it wanted it held for him until he could come up with the $. On monday, assuming the truck was still for sale, I called the guy. He told me it was on hold for somebody. That "somebody" still hasn't come up with the $. He needs to take out a loan, borrow some $, etc. etc. I told the guy I could come give him $7500 cash RIGHT NOW. Well a day goes by and it's Tuesday. He said he called the guy again, and once again, hasn't come up with the $ yet. This guy doesn't have any $ down on the truck, and is going to buy it for less than what I offered. Now if you were the seller, wouldn't you let me come pick it up, in CASH for MORE than what somebody else offered??? The seller said he is holding it until Saturday for this guy. SATURDAY! R U KIDDING ME!?! Who puts a truck on hold for a week? Without any $ down? Am I thinking backwards here? What if this guy backs out, and I find something by then? The sellers screwed!
