Where do you leave your sled? I'd be afraid that someone would touch it. Probably doesn't help that ill never be able to ride to school with the fact that I live in northern Illinois and that my side of town is wealthy and the other side is a ghetto. Plus my sleds are kept at the lake house

Kids ride to school in Phelps everyday that snow is good. Trails take you right to the park then school up the hill.

You can ride them to school in Ironwood. My son has taken his 4 wheeler to school several times. He does'nt have a sled yet but his friends rides his sled to school.

We used to ride to Junior High school in the early 70's in East Grand Forks, MN. I think kids still do some when we have snow.

Back in the mid-70's we rode to school a LOT!
parking was out in front of the office, they kept an eye on them.
Sometimes it looked like a car lot,... all the sleds nicely lined up!
:)
Back then you didn't worry about other kids messin' with them,....
of course,... we used to have SNOW back then also!

Ah the Good Ol' Days. Back in the 70's we rode the ditches and side roads up hill with a bear chasing us both ways to school. The snow was 10 feet deep and they plowed the roads with Road Graders with a big V Plow on the front. (well at least the last part is true)

In my day did not have snowmobiles so I had to walk 5 miles up hill, barefoot against a strong NE wind with no hat. Soaked to the bone & cold until we got the pot belly stove going & we had to listen to Johnboy read his crappy stories to the class. Johnboy seemed gay but he had good looking sisters so I let him hang out with me. LOL :)

Aaaahhhh Yes!!!! I miss those days, when 6 hours of school felt like 12. We ditch banged to school almost everyday back in 77-78. Turned 18 just in time to "buy" back then, so when the schools were closed for a week with the blizzard of 78 we ditch banged to the beer store next to the school instead.

Mom never knew my brother and I were syphoning gas from her big old Crysler Imperial to keep our sled habit alive. (that beast of hers burned premium).

The kids that go to Bretheren ride there sleds to school, I see them lined up by the bike rack as if they are ready to run in the "Soo 500".

Its pretty common up here (northern mn). In fact, for teenagers who don't have a vehicle or a drivers license, a snowmobile becomes their main mode of transportation in some cases during the winter.

A few years back I was coaching hockey and we had 6am practices monday through thursday. There was a handful of kids who rode sleds to hockey practice then to school each day. As cool as it may sound, I am pretty sure the novelty wore out quick. Waking up and going out to below zero temps and darkness to start/warmup a sled every day becomes a chore no matter how much you like riding snowmobiles.
