Apex or Nytro

Fusion,

Yes I agree they had some nagging issues and I agree with you it took too long to address them but on the upside they are issues that never left their consumers stranded and I know lots of horror stories of people who switched to Yamaha for the very reason that their engines or electrical issues left them stranded and then the product sat for weeks if not months costing them their season. Fact is nothing is perfect and I can agree that Yamaha has had it's faults for sure. Thanks, Kip

Great comment Kip. For all of you that hear us saying Kip runs a great shop now you can see why. He is a Yami dealer but he tells it like it is and will take the high road in everything with the ultimate objective of making customers happy and keeping them on the trail.

I have a 07 apex 121 with 8000 miles on it love the thing literally -- im a long haul trail rider but do do boon docking when need be on it mostly by our camp site up north .. cant cry over 19.5 mpg over all great sled no major problems with the sled owned it from new in box .. yaa its had small issues exaust doughnuts ,, slides,,finally replaced bearings at 6000 mile mark and hand warmer wasent warm enough but all cured now hot hands a must ad on .. why i like the sled so much besides the mods and pure power of the thing is its toatally rebuildable from bumper to bumper i dont have to junk my baby if god forbid i crash it .. boon docking on a 121 skid you can do it but it takes feness on the apex and never let off the throttle stay to the back of the sled if you can .. get it stuck some will say rent a crane i found you dig out front end and try to get rear end over trypod your body nail hang on seems to work for me .. my friend use to have the 121 apex and bought a xtx apex 2012 left over sled new ...i got to try it needs alot of tweeking to get it to steer properly for me,, him its fine power steering is nice .. the ride is super .. wouldent want to get that one stuck though .. good luck with what ever you go after keep in mind what kind of riding you will be doing trail or boon docking or both then pic you sled .. p.s. mpg will varry if on the trottle alot -- i average 19.5 if riding normal if im in a hurry to get some place far away 16 mpg average...

I loved my yami Nyto RTX...until I went on a diet plan and switched to Polaris.... I know this is a 4 stroke sled post and most people on here are considering 4strokes but I wanted to say that if you are arguing over weight and handling, consider a 2 stroke. I still have my Nytro but it sits in the garage. I ride a Polairs Switchback Assault 144 primarily. Sled is almost 100 lbs lighter than the nytro.... THATS ALOT OF WEIGHT! Handling is 200% better simply because of weight. Sure i have 8000 miles on the nytro with zero issues and my polaris will not do that. But its a better riding sled for my use.

One thing I HATE about the yami - I went through slides every 500-700 miles. And thats with the extra boogie wheels added. People said - add the fancy new Dupont slide at 60$ a copy.... yeah right. BS. I can buy a life time of cheap slides for that cost! Well my 144 inch polaris WITH 2inch paddles has 2500 miles on it and the slides have MAYBE 1mm of wear .. Just want to point out that every sled has its downfalls. you have to choose what positives you want! Good luck!

ps - pick up a turbo'd Nytro XTX!!

I just picked up a 2006 Apex GT. I can’t wait to hit the trails. Thanks for all the great feed back.

I realize my rant was post due. ha! Congrats on the Apex!! At least you can be confident you will get 20,000 miles on the motor!!
