By the way, anyone stressing out that they will not get their federal faxes done by midnight tonight, you have until midnight Monday this year to file them. Not sure about individual state return dates.

The reason is some holiday exclusive to Washington D.C. (go figure) allowed them to not have to file until Monday and the IRS decided to give the same date to everyone.

What's the holiday? We again bankrupt the country day, so they don’t need our money until the 18th. Bonus!

Just how brutal can the government be? I owe about as much as a new sled. Go figure. I suspect a conspiracy. A new sled or a millasecond of federal gov waste. I can create jobs with my purchase. Nothing has changed in the last thousand years. Kings pillaging the peasants, just disguised a little differently.

work and save a little
work and save a little more
work and save and invest some, work and save invest some more.
Now they say my work is less valuable to me than someone that doesn't work as hard as I did. I have started to say it out loud, Obama is an afro american and his attitude is getto based. Tax and fund those that don't try to improve.
The world owes them because someone 6 generations ago was a slave.

Devalue the dollar I saved.
Raise capital gains tax when I sell an investment.

Sorry to rant but we must start to stand up and bitc% to get things
turned around.

I hear you loud and clear, it's exhausting the social entitlement mentality and the same goes for govt. employees. Getting the gravy and doing nothing for it, it gets old real fast. I'm self-employed and independent and in today's day and age I wonder why, there just isn't any incentive to have to work so hard and not have any thing to show for it. It's a wasteful, fraudulent system when you have one segment of the population that has to work harder so another segment doesn't. I've got alot of advice to give my kids some day and being a self-employed independent will be on the bottom of that list.

Perhaps....and maybe I was a wee bit cranky after a 48 hour shift. Honestly, I'd never claim to be the world's hardest working dude, but I'd like to think that I do something more than nothing.

Oh, I feel so much better now that I wrote out checks for my Social security, Fed. tax and state income tax. Oh, and thank you mailman for bringing me more of those nice credit card checks to do it. And a big thank you to VISA for only hitting me up for 3% of the check. That was generous to only charge me 2.4% monthly (29% annual) interest after 6 months after taking the 3% up front. The gov. shows much less mercy. Small business in America does not stand a chance.

Yeah I got behind the 8 ball with the fed about 17yrs ago cost more in fees and intrest than the initial bill I could not afford to pay.I have also had to take out loans to pay my taxes sad but all to true.My birthday has not been good to me in over 20yrs always having to think about how I am going to pay these douchebags in 4 days.I had another guy sit and talk about how he was getting more back than he payed in at a dinner party for my wife's work this weekend you know I was turning purple and biting my tongue. My wife did all she could to Chang the subject because she knew if it went on much longer it was going to get ugly

So that’s the reason I don’t get invited to dinner parties anymore...I was wondering what was up with that, not that I am opinionated or anything.

Stick with Hot Dog budgets for your invoices instead of spending on Steak and over priced Chicago pizza and you're less likely to get that certified letter from the IRS!

Sounds like you need a more creative accountant Bobcat boy!

Dave, stareing at a Giodano's deep dish pizza right now. It is sitting on top of tv staying warm. I had Al's #1 combo as an appetizer with extra wet and those fricking hot peppers. Al's has fantastic fries also. Will drinking the several containers of "juice" (wet) lock up my arteries? Lol. Pizza for breakfast.

As far as my CPA, well he was an Eagle scout and my #1 reason I have him is to keep me out of a cell with a guy named BUBBA. He called it close this time. New sled is still on agenda.

Can I say "LOL" here, or just "Like"?

Same here Polarisrider, not really feeling what I make justifies the taxes I had to pay this year.
Divorce settlement didn't help any either. Did you know if your retirement is and IRA you have to pay tax on the disbursment but if it would have been anything else like a 401k, 401b, sepa etc they are exempt for income tax due to a divorce!!! Hmmm, wonder why that is???

Pay tax

We use all the gray area there is however no tax = no income! We need income to have a good life. Our country needs less grey area for large corporations.
