Wheeling in the UP is awesome. There is less traffic, cool scenery , cool trails. Flies don't bother you at all unless you stop and take your helmet off and thats only for a few weeks. I have never ridden in the keweenaw yet, mainly between White pine, Bergland, Rockland, and this year more ontonagon also Baraga. Anyone want a guide on the western end pm me, limited weekends only.

Are there any places north of the bridge that are not open in mid-August?? Bars/restaurants/gas.
Quite the opposite. You will find more businesses open in the summer than winter. Summer tourism is much bigger than winter up here.

Sweet! So excited to ride the Keweenaw!
Sounds like a fun trip. I ride the ATV's in Saywer County (hayward area) in the summer and its really cool to see the trails during the summer months. Not as fast as sleds or direct but still a great time. Next time I am going were going to pack a tent and fish some of the smaller lakes along the trail.
