The Wooden Nickel, hands down the best I have had in the UP. John, maybe you can set up a grill on the side of the trail? Earn a little extra scratch ...

Well I'm going to go a bit further north and say the Trestle Inn near Finland,MN. The Trestle burger deluxe (1/2 lb bacon cheeseburger) is pretty dang good.

Ditto on the Wooden Nickel, first time I had their burger I was surprised, went in not expecting much and came out with a smille on my face. Not a bad place to stop even early in the season since the snow usually runs out about there or a little further west.

I also like Hoppys as there has been many a day were a short "Hoppys Run" is in order for lunch.

Actually I did mean west, west of the Nickle, as sometimes it is REALLY thin the last couple miles to the Nickel coming from Watersmeet but when we have their burger on our minds we do not turn back even if the sleds lack the lube.

True now understand what you meant sometimes painful to ride to Iron River on 2 with the ever decreasing snow & the gravel coming thru. For me have to go there at times for gas to ride north or south.
