Boy this one is difficult to call. Already 6+ inches in Phelps but comes in waves & radar only showing eastern 1/2 of Vilas county getting snow ......western half not showing anything on radar. Seems to want to bloom over northern 1/3 of WI but so far has not done that yet instead breaking up. A lot more to come or just NOT going to happen??

after the last two days picking up close to 8" in SE Wisconsin the RAIN has just started and they are calling for Heavy rain all night into tomorrow till it changes back to snow and get a few inches!! Bye Bye SNOW down here, hope its all SNOW further north!!

Just had to keep the JD faith Stage 2 in process in Eastern Vilas County,WI got to be pushing 9+" already & blowing good too. Could be a monster snow when done. Trying to get snowplow guy on the telephone now....hate to spoil his Xmas Eve but we are snowed in no one getting in or out. Radar shows nothing but rain or snow for 600+miles streaming south to north. Be careful out there in Vilas County roads are very bad if not closed already.

What is it doing in Vilas co. now ? Any roads closed ? Did it rain and turn everything to ice ? We will be coming thru there early this afternoon with my kids and ( 1/2 of our house ). Any input on " preferred " roads to use while cutting thru to Gogebic would be appreciated. Meaning roads that get maintained 1st ? We are coming up 39/51. With it being X-mas day I don't have a lot of faith in the " road crews " ( not to offend anyone ).

Rain here in the Madison/southern WI area. Things are still white. I took a little ride on the trail yesterday and there is still snow. Going to try to groom tonight before everything sets up and gets hard with the cold weather coming in.
Same hear in black earth, i dont think we lost our base, I'm going to try grooming at midnight

Up here in NW Minn they have just closed I-29 from the SD border to Canada. No plows are running. Snowing very hard here and winds at about 20 mph. Winds supposed to increase to 30 which should level the ditches. Hard to tell how much it has snowed because of the wind but I will guess about 6 inches. Supposed to keep up for another day. After we get dug out it will be WINTER.

Temps upper 20s so salt will work very well on roads. No idea how much snow guessing around 12" when it turned to light freezing rain & looks like rain pushed thru all WI & UPMI too. Plow guy plowed us out in AM so we can get in & out now. Seems to snow very hard then mix with rain but sooner or later all will be snow again. From what I have seen Vilas Trails should be outstanding when groomed & set up. Trails needed an ice wet base badly so this storm was made to order for good trail conditions. Probably not good riding conditions now as visor will ice up but not much riding going on Xmas day anyway. Has to be well over 2 feet in woods & no firm idea when all the snow fall will be over. Great to have snow on Xmas in Northern WI!
