the warm temp with a little sleet really made for nice grooming snow and packing. got another inch overnight. saw the groomers out last night and trails look good! doent seem to be a whole lot of traffic yet. Only complaints i have heard of is west from ldf to mercer is rough. heard some rr grades in mich got gravel flying. also some mud holes in up that people keep trying to drive thru instead of around. overall I would sat rails are a 8!! whitedust, sorry for highjacking your thread !

The trails need the snow we are getting, the few trails that were groomed were smooth, but enough snow to fill in the major gaps and holes, bottoming out on huge dips at higher speeds.. Overall though it was a slower ride, with lots of bumps.. Not as much traffic as I would have expected for Christmas week. The lakes are total crap, people rolling sleds and are just messy, rough and major slush that is freezing after people travel through it. Right now every entrance is horrible. If we get a few more inches and the groomers can keep up, this winter could be epic though! Still tons of fun compared to watching rain fall!

Ryan,
Are you back in town?? Ready to roll? When & where? Have another that wants to join us? What about Dave on your end?

Here in the NW suburbs in MN we got more snow than I have seen in years. Not a drop of rain but some sleet kept the amounts down from the very high estimates. The further north and west you go the better. Before the groomer came through, there was almost too much snow in many spots. Best problem I have ever had.
