Looks like the place to go now is the Black Hills. Trailshead lodge has said they've gotten 3+ feet of snow over the last 2 days. I've been there, nice place.

lots of land mines out there with only 3 ft but worth it for the unplowed roads .now I am off to look at other Hills sites

I've never ridden out west. Do they have a trail system there like WI and MI? Of is it all off trail riding for the most part? Thanks

The black hills has a great trail system but it doesn't open until 12/15 on private land. There's also hundreds of miles of forest roads which are available to ride. They'd be fun right now

best grooming in the country that I have ever seen hands down. no fee for trail sticker . trail and tons of unplowed roads . best to have a detailed road map along with a trail map , but pretty hard to get lost on black hills trails .
plan on staying at least up the hill from lead . u can some times get down to lead and very rare u can get down to deadwood.is http://recreationalspringsresort.com/ prob 10 min up hill from lead and is a good base if u want to drive the truck down to town for night life in deadwood .the better snow is usually up around . https://www.facebook.com/pages/Trailshead-Lodge/128799693853805

If you want to ride on the best Groomed Trails in the Midwest. The Black hills is it. Ezra has it figured out. I have been there several times.

Correct, absolutely fantastic riding there when the snow is good. I've been out there 4 times, twice as a 2 day stop on trips to the snowies or big horns, once when they got 9 feet of snow the previous weekend, and took my wife out there for our 5 yr anniversary. She even liked riding out there, trails were excellent and the forest roads were great.
