Bob Seger, Michigan Native Son

Caught Bob's show at the Xcel tonight - Great Show! It's fortunate for us that he usually includes St. Paul in his tour schedule.

Yes, it's true, there was more gray hair than meatloaf night at an Old Country Buffet but that doesn't mean it was a low key event. Bob and his band cranked it out almost non-stop for two and a half hours and the crowd was with him all the way.

If you're a fan, you have to put just one more Bob Seger show on your bucket list. Some say this will be his last tour but I wouldn't bet on it. FYI, Bob still has May tour dates in Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, and Grand Rapids.

Michigan should be proud to claim Bob as a native son.

A favorite Seger song? Almost impossible to pick but "Makin Thunderbirds" is right up there. Other favorites?

Summer is for 2 things.....working on sleds and concerts. We seen Bob at Saginaw in April and heading down to the Palace on the 17th and also Grand Rapids on the 28th. My wife and I attend roughly 15 to 20 concerts during the summer. When you figure the cost (at least for us) of going to the bars is almost cost the same, we're shot people, beer yuck. Besides that what happens at concerts stays at concerts. While going to the local bars around here will end up on facebook.

While I like pretty much everything he sang, I like the early stuff (back in 72 and earlier) better, my wife likes the later stuff better. Oh and lets not forget Live Bullet recorded at Cobo Hill which I went to back in the days.

Favorite song 2+2 or Lucifer, but Nutbush is right up there also along with RGM and heavy music

He led off the show with "Roll Me Away". The crowd went wild!!!

What was cool about this show was that, since he wasn't really showcasing new material, he had time to play a lot of deeper cuts from his older albums. He probably played 5 or 6 songs from Night Moves alone.

Bob on 8 track. Spent a night in my Camaro back in 77 with 2 young ladies waiting to see Bob Seger and Heart at the US131 dragway Park, for a concert. Married one of them, going on 31 years. Working on our "Night moves".

Pork Chops - too funny! Never could master them, although there was the matter of the Fu Manchu. Cragar SS wheels, a requirement for just the right attitude.

P.S. FireCatGuy, great Vids - If you're a biker, Roll Me Away almost has to be an anthem. Looks like it's close to a full moon tonight - shame on it
