So my brother is one of them outdoorsy types. He was driving to work early one morning and thought he hit someones dog with the back tire on his truck. He turned around and here it was a Bobcat. According to the DNR we don't have bobcats this far south. One hasn't been taken since the 80's. So DNR comes down to Wiebke Fur to look at this bobcat. Here it is just a kitten which means there is a breeding population of bobcats this far south. By this far south I mean I can piss into Iowa and Wisconsin from where I live. So DNR want's to take the animal for "study" and my brother says no I want to keep my animal. Arguing back and forth and DNR finally gave him a salvage tag so he gets to keep it. Hope he gets it mounted!! So I guess while in the woods a guy bettter learn to look up.... Beautiful animal. bobcat1.jpg

I live in north western Illinois and we have a pretty good population of Bobcats. I see a few of them every year. They are impressive beautiful animals. I am surprised the DNR thinks there isn't a population near you. Obviously they are wrong about that.

what do you mean this far south? kidding right....just an FYI..way farther south than that...and this too...will be a cool mount though

Bobcats, the only resident native wild cat in Indiana, are a species of great curiosity. Because they are generally a solitary and secretive animal, bobcats often leave Hoosier wanting to know more about these unique mammals. Between 1970 and 2014, the IDNR received bobcat reports from 63 Indiana counties.

The increasing number of big cat reports in the state coincides with the return of the bobcat to Kentucky’s landscape. Bobcats, which were considered rare as late as 1974, have increased in range and abundance throughout Kentucky. They are now found in every county in the state. Bobcats may have solid brown coats, which can cause people to misidentify them when glimpsed in low light.

heres how smart the dnr is....this is singlehandely the dumbest thing said besides theres no bigfoot either...ROTHFLMAO on the bold....some old dudes in a dew drop inn or mosquito inn decided er came to a conclusion....ROTFLMAO again....facts starring them straight in the face...even DNA...nope...not real...someones pet for sure...HAHAHAHAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources receive reports each year of mountain lions roaming the state. However, there have been only two confirmations: a female kitten struck by a car in Floyd County in June 1997, and an adult male mountain lion dispatched by a Kentucky Fish and Wildlife conservation officer in Bourbon County on December 15, 2014. DNA testing revealed the kitten had South American ancestry, leading to the conclusion that it was of captive origin.

personally, if it was ME< I would give them the body BACK< your taxidermist doesn't need it, once the hide is off, you can GIVE the DCNR the body back and let them study it if they wish,
no harm in helping things??
plus will keep your brother in better terms with them,a s if there like the state game wardens here, they hold a grudge pretty deep here? LOL

better to have them like you than not?

Bob cats are cool critters, they scare the heck out the local deer her and even the bears, funny how a small cat can scare a BIG bear!

here is a bear from other night , feeder is 8 ft 2 inches off the ground, , bear was about 5 inches short on getting the feeder LOL

he's an honest 450+ lbs male

and a local backyard bob cat too, always seem to get blurry pic's of them , there always on the move it seems? that or maybe there part BIG Foot and can pick up camera's LOL(sorry tracker) bird feeder pic's 004.jpg bird feeder pic's 009.jpg bird feeder pic's 007.jpg 224.jpg

in almost ALL states it illegal to shoot/kill any creature that isn't in SEASON and have a hunting season for it, there is NO animals, that you can JUST kill, legally
BUT we all do I am sure at times, from snakes to??

and NOT shooting BIG FOOTS by Military "Orders"??
i KNOW OF none that sate 'NO SHOOTING BIG FOOTS"
But If there is, I would BEAT its due to the fact, if they DO shoot AT one,. and it turns out to be some jackaZZ in a suit, it would get someone a murder conviction and a BAD image to the armed service division!
Plus, any killing of game NOT in Hunting season and a HUNT ABLE animal, would be a against the law as well?
again breaking the law is NOT the military's main goal I gather??

NOW< Tracker, WHY would folks make claims to SEE things, or just SAY that they did
LOTS of reason's there
as stated before, folks LIKE to become famous today more than ever, folks like attention, or bragging rights, and there is ALWAYS those that like to waste other peoples time, with false reports

don't think its rather common for folks to make false statements, contact any 911 center and ask how many calls a week/month/year, they get that are false??
the number will scare you I beat?
as again, lots of people want attention, and many don't care HOW they get it!

the power of suggestion is a very amazing thing at times, its been proven to make people SEE things that are NOT there or REAL!

SO< why do sighting happen all around the world??
many HONEST answers, just none you like there Tracker!

you'd rather believe in a animal that there is NO REAL proof of!

well I guess I should have said, in MOST states
as Coyotes can be hunted here like 24/7, BUT you still need a hunting lic to legally do so, as the STATE considers them THERE property, and if you wish to KILL it, you have to PAY LOL
Corws too can be hunted almost all yr as well

but overall, MOST all animals, are either IN season or NOT, NOT many things have an open season for a free for all to kill ~
