Very sad. I was at Haydays 2 years ago and saw the brothers perform the 2-up backflip, pretty incredible. Prayers go out to the family.

Easy, Chicago Boy, come down off your soapbox. The Moore bros. have been doing this for more than 4 hrs. The sled that ran into the crowd did not hit anyone, but the kid did injury his knee getting out of the way. Just because YOU don't like it, there are people who enjoy the snowboarding. The X stands for Extreme which equals the possibility of injury. Now with that said and you(hopefully) down off your high horse, prayers go out to the Moore family.
After all said and done you and I love the same sport that Caleb died doing RIP Caleb

My heart goes out to his friends and family.

I really wonder what happened between the initial diagnosis/treatment and when things took a turn for the worse.

Very sad for sure. These extreme riders push it to the limit everytime they hop on a machine. They always want to be the one to fly higher and longer. The tricks have become so technical, that it was just a matter of time before something like this was going to happen. Anybody who rides a sled can't help but be in awe of what these guys are able to do. Considering he was relatively unknown until just a few years ago, he literally launched himself into the spotlight, and became a leader and household name in the sport. His fellow competitors had the utmost respect for him, and it's a shame that a life had to be lost at such a young age. Thoughts and prayers to the family and friends left behind. Thanks for the memories Caleb!!!

Really really sad. R.I.P.

Unfortunately, thousands of people are going to think that these are risks of everyday snowmobiling, and it will bring another negative vibe to the hobby.

bad deal but are any of u shocked at the way 1st responders handle bad wrecks at x games ?
any other event if someone is knocked out for any amount of time or has a fall/ flips/rolls/bounces/ the back board comes out they are strapped down like it or not.
they are letting guys take off there helmets jump up run around.
they know what effect Adrenalin and shock has on the body.

ESPN today was saying X games will evaluate the events or something like that. Feel sorry for the family but it's the bad part of extreme sports!!!

We all take risks everyday. Just getting on a snowmobile has quite a bit of risk associated with it. Its a matter of calculating the risks and hedging the outcomes as best you can with good equipment, common sense, and skill. The enjoyment of doing what you love outweighs the risks that go along with it, right?

That being said, I doubt very highly that these young guys at the X-games are realizing how dangerous the stunts are that they are doing and how likely it is that they will get injured (or killed). Like ezra said, they are all in denial. Yeah I know, they do it because they love it. I wonder if Blair Morgan would make any different decisions if he had it to do all over again. All I can say is I would hate to be this young man's parents with two boys in the hospital, one of whom probably won't go home.

No doubt this won't slow down any of these guys down one bit.

i read an interview with blair, very candid about his injury, always knew the risks of racing, and has a very upbeat attitude..remember he was the greatest at his sport..not many people can say that..ands in the end it was a major tradeoff..

caleb passed away yesterday, my condolences to his family..

IMO the xgames are the greatest..remember pastranas double back flip, the danger is real..but so is mountain sledding in the avalache prone west, or even riding trails in the up when ricky comes around the corner..

these kids are pros, practice immensley, their bodies worked out endlessly, and to say that the xgames is somehow wrong or responsible is just unsound reporting(as ive heard a few times already on the air).

the excitement it has brought me watching these athletes over the years is tremendous, and i hope espn makes the right choice and continues this discipline..
