Can a 2002 Polaris X-Edge 600 that's stock hit 125mph?

Gen2 sled that olsmann is talking about was a faster machine due to the chassis, I have ridden both sleds and know the gen2 is faster than the edge but neiter one will come close to 125. I think everyone has a buddy like yours that tends to "exagerate"

I owned a 02 600 as your speaking of and about 100-105 on speedo was tops. Not sure what the actual speed translates to but it was a quick sled in the trails.

2005 MachZ 1000 - Stock with studs on the ice. 130 Lb. Kid riding it hit 122.4 MPH on a radar gun. I've run just about every late model 600 made and they all run right in the 105 to 110 range with a 200Lb guy on them.
Just my $.02.

Lighter weight rider = lower gross weight = faster?

The machine had made several passes with a grown man of about 220Lbs. Every pass made was 118-119Mph. We put the owners 17yr old son on it at 120-30Lbs and it hit 121+ on three seperate runs.
I don't know the science of it all, just the results of our sunday speed runs last February.

We just tryed the lighter rider to see if we could break 120Mph with a bone stock machine. The results were both with the gun and a gps attached to the sleds.
We do this one sunday each season just for fun. We plow a 2 mile strip on the lake and run a mile and a half wide open to the gun then have a half mile or so to slow it down safely. Its a good time and many people show up with just about any sled ever made. From john deeres and evenrudes to brand new 4 strokes.

Most of us on here know that stock machines that meet or break the 120 mark are very few and far between, and for a stock 600 to do it is unheard of with a reliable way to measure the speed.

Yep. Leave it to MN to have a 55 mph limit any time. Libs..... Look around before you lake race. LOL

Make that 50mph in Minnesota, or the posted speed limit, which ever is Less. But in a boat there's no speed limit (except for the no wake zones). Go figure!

With Mn. snowmobile speed limitations, no wonder I see so many Mn. sleds in UP and Wi., when we have snow. I suppose just the threat of a ticket enforces the law since they surely can't have enough wardens, etc. to do the job all of the time. I sure hope Wi. doesn't follow siut, bad enough it is 55 already at night.
