No way skidoo would say their new engine needs a rebuild at 7500. That would not be an improvement over current etecs.

Likely rave valve cleaning, spark plug change, clutches cleaned and inspected/adjust track and belt deflection, chaincase oil/chain adjusted, grease all fittings....stuff like that

Yeah I thought the same of the 850.... 7500 miles not a big improvement if any but no specfic details were listed just stated 7500 miles was some sort of milestone for the engine that Doo listed according to ST. I thought maybe you knew more or were aware of the 850 write up in Snowtech's first issue this season. I have great hope for a super robust 850 so I'm always reading about it when I can.

I dont kno anything really about them, but have 2 buddys who own the rxt-1 300hp or whatever it is and beat the snot out of it

anything over 70hrs he is on borrowed time tons blow charger chunks in to motor at under 60hrs very few make it past 120hrs with out rebuilding charger . if u don't rebuild it the ski guaranteed is junk . I see at least 10 a season roll through a buds small ski shop to the scrap yard. the dealers back lots are full of them . 700 bucks for a non dealer rebuild . just saw 1 same as your buds used mainly for jet pack less than 40hrs total junk now.
seeing what I see all the time with brp charged equipment I would be very Leary buying anything boosted they built for a few yrs .

Like I said I really don't kno enough about them to comment on their reliability.

If doo brings a sled with a turbo, they will have likely been around the block whether used in SxS or lot of time on the snow. The benefit of being #1 market share is you don't have to rush ANYTHING. The only thing right now that can hurt them is to bring an unreliable junk product. I will be first in line if they come with a Mach Z 137inch track, hopefully about 50lbs lighter than the winderkitty.

Just like the 850, I have no worries about first year sleds, they are usually the fastest year.

Q: are boosted sea-doos reliable

A: Extremely reliable. The 4-Tec 1500 is a very stout engine. Most do no suffer engine failure but supercharger bearing failure on the older models. They had a 50h service interval if memory doesn't escape me. Guys would ignore this and scatter the bearings and these ceramic washers that are part of the sc clutch. Otherwise the newer models have been updated to a lifetime sc system. They essentially make 300 hp on the same block they have been using since like 01. Skidoo Chris on here would be a good one to ask he has a turbo / motec ski. I had a 300 hp 05 rxp from brand new until 2014 when I bought the spark.

Another answer:The older ones were supposed to be good for 100 hrs before a supercharger rebuild ... they had ceramic washers in the clutch that would become brittle over time and then fall apart and get sucked into the engine causing severe engine damage. The newer ones along with the rebuild kit for older units is now good for 200 hrs ... no more ceramic washers. They claim the new 1630 cc 300 hp Seadoo requires no supercharger service but I think the jury is still out on that one ...

the new ones are also blowing bearings and taking out motors . just walk behind a dealer and see the line for service. dont see to many rental outfits renting sea doo like I said a good bud owns a ski shop and I am in it at least 2 times a weeks . he loves seadoo makes a nice living off them lol. all I am saying is I will never buy a boosted doo till it has been out for some time. there documented bad history with bearings and there love of plastic in place of aluminum would not give me a warm fuzzy feeling blasting down a frozen river with no warranty. that is if they honor the warranty in the first place. cuz every one knows a 6 mo old supercharger is a wear item

Just wana make sure im clear on your POV. Boosted BRP products are junk and unreliable due to wear items that BRP makes it clear need to be serviced and have since fixed so one should not buy a BRP boosted ski-doo , but the cat 1100 turbo is a rock that can take all kinds of power with not much issue?

pretty much yes. if u think it is ok to sell some one a 13k toy that needs a 700 buck supercharger rebuild before that season is even over for a lot of guys 60 hrs then go out and wave that flag . have a kid live on a lake they can do that in 2 mo . I own a week chassis gade 6 had a commander had a outlander have had there stuff . it is all what it is but I will never own a ski they build and never a boosted toy from them until it has seen a few yrs with real hrs on it. and yes the cat can take a ton of RELIABLE power for the least amount of $$$ in. pretty sure Kelly ran 132mph last night .will never own there "cat"off road boosted or not.
side note kinda sad u had to run to a fourm to make sure the golden child was really a pile and not the challis u wanted it to be. for skis only 2 worth buying are yammi and kawwi in that order

One question for you "it's gotta be heavy" guys......you planning on carrying the sucker or riding it?

some one still has to have the yammi in the ditch hooked to the tow truck plz post I lost it yrs ago.

Kelly ran 132 with not one stock component left in that engine haha, the stocker would be lucky to make it 10 hours with out a tow home.
