Never had to wait this long to sell a vehicle on craigslist..
03 Silverado 4x4 w 125k ext cab for 7800 bucks that runs perfect w good tires brakes ac ect...
blue books over 9000 but all kinds in the 8000 range on craigslist
Thinking that maybe nobody is buying in this range
Either they have big money or they have little...and the truck sits in the middle

yeah part of the prob is when u start talking over 6g it is not so ez for a guy paying cash. not many banks will finance a old truck with out crazy interest. so cheaper for a guy to go late model used and pay 7ish% of some lot .
I know I take a hit on trades but I have never had much luck selling autos over 6ish grand.
list it for trade on a new toy u will get all kinds of fun offers
of for some work around the house the wife has been bitching about for yrs.
I have done a few bathrooms over the yrs for trucks and cars and boats

I wouldnt put much faith in blue book value for a private sale. Unless you have a vehicle that has some major selling point(lift, custom paint, etc.), you're just one of the masses on craigslist. My F250 "books" at around the same as your truck and I would be happy to get $6k for it if I sold it. I dont think the economy has much to do with it. I think its just supply and demand. There are a ton of those silverados around me for sale. People cant give them away.

My dayshift guy just picked up an 01 for $3200. Only real problem I can see with it is some rust on the wheelarches of the bed.

your price and the rust is the problem. If there are all kinds for 8k and your at 7800? drop to 7500 and is gone

I have a 2003 gmc yukon 4x4 slt with 120K and I bet I can't get more than $5K for it. I don't think its worth $7800.

Traded my 99 Tahoe with 170K for a whoopping $2200 no idea what the dealer will ask for it? Gas hog for sure but will be running good at 270K miles.

Gonna keep it if I can't get at least 7800...Was hoping to get a newer Jeep Grand Cherokee...save the money for retirement

1/2 ton trucks are a dime a dozen.

Too much $$$, especially with rust.

Only trucks worth any money are ones that stand out from the crowd, and that's not even a given. Diesels are pretty much only trucks that command a premium, and pre-emissions diesels at that.

keeping it

Economy is great here. Keep it. The truck is worth more to you then us. Like Ezra said, new could be had so easily.

Yep gonna keep it...just not gonna look at the rust...maybe next summer find a local garage guy to fix her up a little
