Tell me about it. I had to try and find trim pieces for it. Next to impossible.... or financially impossible.... Nothing personal sweep just that I see lots of new cars.Nowadays things are meant to throw away. back then there was pride in what was built. Wish I would have grown up back then....
I agree that more pride was taken in the building of cars in the early 70's.
But i would not agree that today's cars are throw aways, thanks to improvements in oil, filters, bearings, etc. many cars/trucks with 200 and 300K miles still out running and being bought and sold. My kids Saturn is ovet 265, he neglects maint. Drives it hard, no warm up in winter ect. No tuneup on well over 100K still starts, runs, drives okay. When I was looking to buy my first car, didn't even look at anything nearing 100K, or over 10 years old. It was past life expectancy. Unless you needed $100 winter beater.
