Caribbean All Inclusive for Next Year

Just like the title says, looking for someplace to go about a year from now (spring break next year). Wife say’s Mexico, I say something more unusual. Have never been on an all inclusive before but we’re looking at Mexico, or as far south as Aruba or the other islands around there. In the $2,300 pp range. Got some suggestions?

Forgot to say, price includes airfare from Chicago

A few years ago, we went from Milwaukee to Atlanta to San Juan, PR. Got on the Royal Caribbean and went down to Aruba and then 5 more island back to PR.
Check that out as it was great.

You would have to talk to a travel agent to verify, but I think April/May is when the west coast ships move up to Alaska for summer cruises. I heard there are some pretty good deals for the ride north.

Notice I said next April... figure this will be a bargaining chip for all of next season :)

You did not specifically say April. What the heck is Spring break. Isn't it cheaper to zip your zipper up the front and tell her she is staying home, you need that money towards sled trips? Lol. Some guys around here!!

The places discussed so far would be stay on the reservation for saftey reasons gets boring after a few days same old same old. Why not just go to FL Keys no Spring breakers down there too expensive for them. Also you can drive wherever you want & plenty of Keys to explore

OK, I was being short with my question and earlier reply as the site didn't seem to be functioning well for me while I was typing.

Next March is our 30th anniversary. My wife is a teacher so if we go anyplace after the snowmobile season is over we need to do it over her spring break which is March 25-April 3 next year (her birthday is March 30th so that's a bonus too). I've thrown out a lot of ideas (Sled trip, Colorado, Florida, Cruise and more) but she is thinking Mexico. I keep thinking of Ezra's swimming with the S*** story so I'm trying to talk her into someplace else. Her stipulation is 5 star on the water in the Caribbean. My stipulation is all inclusive for 2, around $4-5000.

My wife and I just got back from an all inclusive in the exumas which is part of the Bahamas chain of islands. It was a sandals resort. We had a great time. Very friendly staff and a great beach. Only a 2 hour flight from Atlanta.

My favorite carribean destination so far is St. Lucia. It may be on the higher side of your budget, especially if it is 5 star accomadations. I also enjoyed Negril...how can you beat cliff jumping while drinking at a bar???

I like adventure so I definitely would like to check out Costa Rica as well, but can not comment personally.

We did Dominican Rep. Punta Cana this year and had great time. How can you not with all inclusive. Lol. Think we paid $3400 with the insurance. Which we needed because biggest storm of year hit Chicago night before we left.
We've also done Ocho Rios, Jamaica and Rivera Maya, Mexico. Can't say one place is any better then other. Enjoyed all of them. As long as your at 5 star or higher should be good time.
Good travel agent should steer in right direction for your needs. Some people like renting vehicles go everywhere on own, others like doing tours everyday. Want night life then want be closer to city. Plan staying on site most of time, our place in Rivera Maya was so huge took 3 days to find all pools/spas.

have done several cruises down there and to be honest you can't go wrong with any of them. My personal favorite was st. croix, st. Maarteen was very cool too followed by St. Lucia, aruba, caracao. My next vacation is probably going to be costa rica for more adventure or dominca if it's a more relaxing trip. both should be in that price range.

Heading down to Playa Del Carmen Mexico at the end of May for or 30th. Never been down there before but know a lot of friends who just love it. Good luck on your research.

Starting to lean toward the cruise now. Looking at leaving out of San Juan and doing the southern Caribbean. Comparing Royal Caribbean and Celebrity. We did a 3 day on Royal Caribbean before and it was good, Celebrity seems to be an older smaller ship but a lot of good reviews and people say the staff is a little more attentive, plus it's about $350 PP cheaper right now with the specials they have going. Anyone have any experience with them?

Decided on a 7 night cruise on Celebrity out of San Juan. Hits 5 islands and with the specials they have going right now we upgraded to a suite, got a drink package, tips included and $300 onboard credit. I compared it to some of the all inclusive trips and think this may even end up just a bit cheaper. Either way, figured we'd try it and see how we like it. Thanks for all the suggestions everyone
