Time to Upgrade our phones. We had US Cellular for the last few years and were pleased with coverage. This spring we were getting dropped calls a bit more than usual.

Since it's time to upgrade the devices ..
What Carrier provides Good Reliable Service in the Northwoods WI / Western UP ?

I think in the spring US Cellular went back to Sprint Towers, hence the problems poor coverage. When all was good with US Cellular they were using Verizon Towers.

We just switched 3 iPhones from ATT to Verizon and are extreemly happy with Verizon in northern WI and the UP. About 500x better than ATT. ATT struggles to cover the area with EDGE. Verizon gives good 3G coverage to the entire area with places like Wausau having LTE. I realize data coverage may not matter to some, but the three people on our plan have been experiencing better coverage for phone calls as well. Verizon doesnt have anywhere near the dead zones att has.

I have Cellcom and I have no complaints. Good coverage in the U.P. up as far as Mohawk. No coverage in White Pine a couple years ago.

We moved up here in NWWI from IA with our US Cell phones and thru them in Lake Superior, no coverage. Switched to Cell One, now is AT&T and we have a tower on our road, so it works great here and when we travel back to IA.

We tried a few different carriers and Verizon worked the best for us, both near home and up north where we ride.

I ride from one end of the UP to the other and rarely have a time when I don't have a signal with VERIZON. It does happen, but not too often.

I've had a variety of them including Blackberrys to various Android devices including all that you named above. My favorite Android - Motorola hands down because it was rock solid. However, now I drank the Apple Kool-Aide and have an iPhone 5. The camera on this thing is incomparable to the others and I haven't found a thing I really don't like about it - so far.

My wife and I both have Motorola Androids with Verizon. Every time I tell my wife I wish my phone could do this or that, she tells me it already does. I discover new useful reasons to carry this gadget around everyday.

haha! Apple loyal right here. Had the 3G, 4, 4S and now the 5. Some people will complain about Apple but lots will tell you they just work! very waterproof/indestructible also. I've pulled my phone out of my pocket while riding many times and it has a layer of ice over it. thaw it in my hands and never a single issue!
