CF Moto/Artic Cat

That's interesting. I never heard that. A guy who rides 2/3k miles a year would really clean up on worn out parts...
I snow-checked my 2020 XCR 850 and my 2020 PRO-S 600 that came with a 4 year warrantees with certain wearable items excluded

I snow-checked several Polaris sleds in the 90's and 2000's that had only 2-year warrantees

I'm not aware of any 5 year warrantees

Finding a new sled for 5-6k with a 5-year warranty might bring in a new type of buyer...one that has already begun to buy under the CF Moto brand and then they see their dealer also offers sleds.... These buyers are not same buyers as the ones buying new Polaris of Can-Am/Ski-Doo products. These are people who make 50-70k.
I know 5k to 8k is not a huge difference in price, but i think a sled for 5k from a new brand might sway people. And who wants to buy the cheapest model a brand offers...riding that is demoralizing for some. There buddies are riding 12k sleds and here you come along with you 7k Neo sled from the same brand. Riding a new sled from a new and upcoming manufacture is a lot more enjoyable and your can rag on you buddies that your Chinese 5k sled is just as good as there 12k-16k sled in a lot of aspects and just as fun. This sport is not just about numbers, it's also about excitement and "feelings"

Plus you have the group that just rents new 12k sleds every year. They might consider buying if cheap enough.
Nope, wrong, the rental groupies aren't going to tie their money up in sleds, and trailers, as they really don't ride that much. I know quite a few who transformed from 'sled owners' to 'renters'. The only few who went back to owning sleds had retired from regular working jobs.

Ok. Had no idea. Thanks all your knowledge and expertise

Anyways, i'm renting now and still have the sled trailer and drive a truck. So getting back in would be easy, but i can't because you said it's not possible. I'm going to have to rent from now on! Darn!

You may find as many others have now, that your ahead in the game by renting.? And at least you're still snowmobiling, and haven't thrown in the towel, eh. ;)

probably seeing only the tip of the iceberg of issues that will and is plaguing this sport, and lets all the Cat haters continue to cheer on the potential demise of a legacy brand name! after all they are the only ones in trouble here LOL!!!! give me a break! get ready....this sport is in for a very rough ride and dont think for one minute that none of your favorite brands arent or wont be experiencing the same.

The market for budget sleds is small along with the current budget snowfall years.
The CFmoto seem to be increasing in cost putting them even closer to the existing quality manufactures…
Outside of purchasing a brand name, tech and maybe acquiring some existing dealer network It maybe plausable but doubtfull.

Spoke to a friend who works at CF Moto USA and he said the US team recommended not to do it but the China team is who makes the decisions and he doesn't know which way they lean yet. But he'd bet against it.

IMO, Kawasaki should delve into the purchase of Arctic Cat. I think it would be a great fit for both companies, a lot of growth potential is there to be had.
I absolutely agree mezz, X2! I think Kawi could really make AC a respectable force, and have leading edge snowmobiles once again. However, I was dead wrong on thinking Textron had changed, and learned from their Poo demise, and would really make AC be what they truly could be. They rused me as a fool.

with lack of snow year after year, who wants to buy a new sled anymore. My boys were just getting into the sport 10 years ago and loved it, lack of snow and they have lacked the interest of even going up to our cabin, lack of snow means lack of sales and loss of interest. its only us old farts that have this in our bloods of riding, the younger gen. do not, so all in all its going to be a dying sport, which sucks for us die hard snow lovers

Sadly, your analysis is pretty spot on. Not sure what can be done to change it. I’m 68 and I won’t be buying another sled, this my last. I love the sport but have to admit I’m not as excited about it as I used to be. Maybe it’s because I live up here and can go anytime I want.

From an article i read yesterday in Supertrax, Argo is the front runner. I found it very interesting that a magazine would post something that is not a done deal. Everything they say seems to fall in place. I would much rather see Argo make the purchase than CF Moto. Both would be better than Textron. Sorry i cant post that article, lack of computer skills!

Fixed it for you.
Tip of the hat to Supertrax and Mark Lester.
