When the oil smells like berries its time to change it. Go to your local auto parts store and get some blinker fluid. I believe your chaincase takes 32 oz.

Seriously? If the dipstick is dry and you heard Grinding Noises, it's time to open it up for a Look/See. Check for metal filings in the bottom and any broken or worn parts that need replacing. Close it up and fill to proper level on the dipstick. Hopefully you caught it in time.

Your chaincase is fine, probably hold up another 10 years without fuss. I'd check your muffler bearings though. Those suckers are only good for 2k miles.

isoflex grease works wonders for chaincases. Just add 2 12oz diet mountain dews with the grease to help thin it out. Regular dew will corrode the metal from all the sugar.

But if you get a leak with Diet Mt. Dew in there it will be confusing. The green Dew will look like antifreeze!

Them muffler bearings are a highly over looked item..And they got them lite weight high flow easy spins out now that are worth 10 HP.

Oh no!!

Dis came out of the chaincase on the magnet at the end of the dipstick, along with a bunch shavings. Is this somethin I need to worry about? The muffler looks good John! ;)

Hey, can someone tell me where to get the blinker fluid? The guy at Auto Zone said they don't carry it? Thankfully they had the muffler bearings, can't believe what they are getting for a set of those! Anyway, need some help getting these installed, want to do it right the first time!!! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

That is the internal lubricator polishing ball you need to put that back in there..And if it gets stuck to the magnet again get rid of the magnet as that polisher needs to be able to move around in there.

I would go back to auto zone and complain to the manager..As far as the muffler bearings turn sled upside down.and just beat and pry them out,,tools needed will be sledge hammer and 5 foot wreaking bar and piece of foam rubber the foam rubber is used so you dont damage the new ones when you beat them back in with the sledge hammer..To make insertion easier you can put the new ones in the freezer a day or 2 before istallation to shrink them..And safety first by all means so dont forget hard hat and safety glasses,,gloves are optional.

While all this advise is good you aren't going anywhere unless the piston return springs are in good shape. If you break one of those on the trail it is a long ride back in reverse.
