Does anybody know if Coldwave is still in business? I see things for sale yet, but my old bookmark for them doesn't work I can't find any web site for Coldwave any more.

good question, I thought is was distributed by Parts unlimited and I went to their site and could not find it in the 2013 catalog.

I believe Arctive is still around http://www.arctiva.com/
They have a 2014 catalog I have always wondered if coldwave and arctivea are just parts unlimited house brands especially after looking at the website, doesn't mean they are bad products.

Looks like Choko has something called Nortech and use it in a new line called IceRock.

I bought a *NEW* Klim Vector jacket for $230 on the internet last week in XL Black. They may have more.
Motorfist has new bibs online for $189. I am amazed at how everyone has jumped in the high dollar boot market.

I am amazed at how everyone has jumped in the high dollar boot market.
especially seeing as the bottoms are chewed with the newer boards up so bad after 3 seasons they are unusable .
that is why I am going motor fist after this season.
who was selling for 189? I ask cuz that was as cheep as I found at hay days and I haggled down a few more bucks.
I am now kicking my self for not grabbing 1 of the orange and white motorfist pullover parkas I found for 99 bucks .

I won't miss Coldwave but Arctiva had good stuff!

Try Klim, True Adventure gear and Motorfist. stay clear of the Kmart stuff.

Do you think the motorfist jackets are as good and warm as klim?

warm well they are shells built for layers/ liners.
as good? lifetime guarantee just about covers it.
I have always spent top money on my bibs e vent or gortex only.
for yrs cats boondocker pants and jackets were gortex but klim bought out cats gortex rights so I went to motorfist bibs.
I still wont spent the big money on jackets usually just buy a leftover cat boondocker coat every 2 yrs or so I own all the liners for them for every temp so why not.the cat boondocker coat is the only one from them I would recommend from them .
after a yr or 2 the arms and chest usually have oil and grease all over any way. I guarantee a 500 buck jacket will still get dirty when wrenching on someones sled in the woods.
I never have

might want to read their warrenty again....

I talked to Rep and "lifetime" is the lifetime of coat or bib not "your lifetime" and only one year on rest gear....gloves are one year!! boots are one year...the good thing is they will send you a "loaner" coat if you need to send your stuff in....

I tore my boot cuff on my MF bibs. They fixed them for free(my fault) and sent me a loaner pair while they fixed them.

I have both Klim and Motorfist outfits. Both are excellent. My bud is hardcore about weights of sleds, gear, etc, and first thing he checked was weight. The MF are slightly heavier than Klim. I couldnt care less, and actually would think that it means the MF gear "might" be tougher.

USed to have an old coldwave jacket. I loved that jacket. But that was before I found breathable gear.
