Comparing BRP Helmets

Any deer hits at that speed?
OK. Let's calm down now. :)

On remote sections of the railroad grades it's not uncommon to cruise around 70 or so with occasional bursts to 80+. We don't run at that speed all the time, maybe 2% of the total time we ride. The only reason I know about the 110 (actually 109) is due to the dash storing the highest speed. Might of happened for one brief second and that's it. I was responding to the review about Oxygen helmets lifting at high speed. I've never experienced that and wanted to share. Don't want anyone to make a decision not to buy the helmet based on something I've never experienced.

and no...never hit a deer. was tempted to hop on one as it was running alongside of me down the trail! I could have reached out and touched it. That was a unique experience for sure.

I had a similar experience last weekend. Cruising along through the twisties and happened to notice some motion on my left. Looked up to see a Bald Eagle pacing me at about 35 to 40mph. We stayed together for about a half a mile before the trail changed direction and he was left behind. I've seen all kinds of wildlife over the years, a wolf once, and now the Eagle. It's one of the things I enjoy most, we see things in wild that the people at home may never encounter.

I hear all that dfattack. ;) I've had close calls with deer too many times. Once I had a deer jump out directly in front of me a ways north of trail 2. It was a new trail to us that year. He ended up on my hood, slid off, then ran off. I was lucky not to have been running faster than I was. Or I'm not sure what the out come would have been? We then discovered the deer were feeding where they had been logging. But ever since then every time we're traveling fast down a grade, or trail and heavily forested, I think of that happening, and seem to ease up on flipper. Oh, and deer hooves are sharp edged!

for sure. When the brush gets closer to the trail the slower we go. We also ride with Tek Vests just in case but after many years riding you can "usually" figure out where the deer will be just from experience. Always will be a one off but always on high alert the faster we ride. I for one want to get home in one piece without incident every time.

Agree! we saw a badger last year. My son spooked it when he was in front of me. Badger ran off to the left then showed his teeth! Badger was pissed! :p

I have run that section of trail dfattack mentions...Iron Mt to Watersmeet (80mi) right at sun up...One ride in particular I had 46 deer cross the trail in front of me along that stretch...Never seen anything like it before or since, and I have ridden that trail probably 100 times over the years...

Thanks Abe this is just a tune up for left eye premium lens poke hole in scar tissue. Right eye was done before premium lens was available but my brain is adjusting well to both lens. Might need slight correction don’t know yet.
How'd the surgery go? A poke in the eye doesn't sound like a good day...

All went well Gary didn’t hurt but didn’t see well yesterday. Much better today much improved good enough to drive 100 miles. Should peak in 2-4 weeks. YAG polished the lens like windex on windows. 👍

Anything else you would like to share with the group?? Considering the title of the thread ;)

80-110-mph? Where are you guys riding?
dfattack pretty much summed it up for me also, on grades or wide open areas. Cruising for me now is at 60 (trail permitting) with the occasional burst but after last year’s roll over (at 20) dialing it all back.

Fyi, this last week I saw no lift on a couple of blips above 70. It might be because of the choice in riding style this week was toward the back of the seat vs up by the handles (less “Rickey Rockets“ in the corners).
