Considering a Polaris 800 Durability?

I know there has been many bad things said in regards to the 800 and the durability of the engine and most of which seen to be related to the fuel mapping. My question is has the aftermarket industry fixed this problem with a programmer? and has it proved to be reliable and kept the engine from blowing up.
Any in put would be helpfull
Thanks

I have an 09 800 RMK. Yes, I had all the recall stuff done, no blow up. The mapping hopefully makes a difference in performance, as mine had a little hesitation, but otherwise it's been strong and great. Polaris has done everything it can to fix the issue. I wouldn't be afraid of buying one, nor would I mess around with a programmer. But that's me...

I still have my 2009 800 Dragon runs great, also bought a new 2011 800 Rush, so did my friend. This will be a good test see how they run compared to my 800 Dragon also had a 2009 800 xc, it was good, but my Dragon handled better, so I traded it for a new 2011 800 Rush.

My type mistake 800 IQ, I traded my 700 xc for the 2009, 800 Dragon and 800 IQ, also get the heavy spring for the back for either 800, that was my big bitch for the year 3 months for Polaris to make it to ship it was Feb, but unless you weigh 175 pounds or less. you must have it or your ride will suck.

Also same with my 2011 800 Rush had to get the heavy rear spring.

My brother's friend and a guy he rides with both had 09 Dragon 800s that they blew up after the updates had been performed. They both went the PC5 route after rebuilds and have yet to have any issues since then. I would definitle invest in a PC5, it sucks that you should have to but for piece of mind I think its worth the extra dough. There seem to be bunch of 800's around for low-low prices so you should make up the extra dough spent in sled savings.
