Construction Zones

in PA< its a law after 1 mile of NOT passing someone in the right lane you can be ticketed!
its called the passing lane for a reason here LOL

BUT< something else to think about, is MANY construction zones have solid lines,
meaning your NOT supposed to change lanes once in them at times, pending HOW There set up and all that!

something else ?? as for merging into traffic, it is NOT The job of traffic/drivers already ON The HI way and UP to speed to have to move or slow or speed up to open a lane opening for ON coming traffic,
on coming traffic is supposed to ENTER ONLY when safe and room(again talking ON RAMPS, NOT other hi ways merging, they have there own added lanes to help get into main routes)

FAR too many folks just merge on,
like others are supposed to get out of there way
and that's NOT the LEGAL case

its not a green light to enter a HI way on ramp, if stopping is needed, then that is what's supposed to happen, NOT pull out and expect FLOWING traffic to stop , move or???
IMO< one of the biggest problems on HI ways is lack of respect for other drivers and lack of paying attention!!

many many accidents at slow speeds as well as High speeds due to just NOT paying attention LOL

and all these so called SMART car , sensor's IMO is just making more folks less skilled at driving
park assist and ???

learn HOW to drive and all that crap isn't needed IMO
ignorance is Bliss on today's roads if you ask me! HAHA!

Well, so much for agreeing with snobuilder.

#29 I dont hold up faster traffic, #31 I team up with others to block traffic. Which side of the fence are you on?

Those temp merge lanes on I-90 in the construction zone are the same length as the permanent merge lanes in the DC area. That makes driving fun!

I will say this, sure got some strong emotions going on this thread, no wonder there are issues on the road if folks get this worked up typing.

HAHA, Lucky also that SO called PRO, was fast with reaction time,

aggressive driving comes in many forms! all are wrong if you ask me!

I also like how everyone keeps going

geez...how effing demanding are you prissy tailgaters?....the lead driver in this case was clearly driving text book style by staying in the left lane as another vehicle was merging into traffic.....was it so important for the tailgater to keep the pedal to the metal that the safe driver should have shut off the guy at the end of the on ramp?

some a youse need to get back enrolled in ACME driving school....LOL....the rest of the free world doesn't revolve around your delicate ego!

I think your on the wrong tread with this post??

and in the correct post with video?
I don;'t think ANYONE said the speeder was in the right here, he was in the WRONG , being so aggressive,

but at same time, its also clear many also feel driver in front that Brake checked him, was also in the WRONG
he could have killed himself or others
and that is plain and simple selfishness

On a side note I also wonder if there is more to this than the video shows
these two morons could have been banging heads long before this video shows the final outcome

but both could have been killed or causes serious injury to others, THINKING , they BOTH were right!! it a public HI WAY out there folks, share the road, have patience and respect of each other!

The video was actually posted here first and used as a thread starter afterwords.

I watched the video a few more times and I don't even think it was a brake check. The tailgater just got caught with her (42YO female) pants down....probly texting....LOL

sorry I didn't see the video here and
to be clear , I don;'t think driver being tailgated was in the wrong for being in the lane he/she was in, and didn't have room to move over safely as things were
BUT when an opening came up, ,. THEN move right

the issue I have is,
IF< as I too cannot se what they did or didn't do!
was if they did brake check the speeder, that could have made things worse for all, had they NOT played out like they did, that speeder could have easy turned right over left and maybe have gotten smashed by the trucker or??
and or just again crossed into moving traffic

back to when Is aid, many accidents happen when the fast meet the slow(slower) drivers

not so much speeds in general

there is NEVER a good reason to tailgate anyone that close, 100% wrong on that moron's driving skills and rudeness of others
NO good can ever come of being that close behind anyone, unless parking maybe LOL

folks act different behind the wheel than when out in public....surely(Shirley?) the tailgater type should be brave enough to tell the person in front of them with a full grocery cart to move the bleep over so they can pay for their eggs and smokes and be on there way!

Which side are you on now?

The slow down game is two vehicles side by side who's intention is slowing you down... The video is clearly a tailgater trying to intimidate the slower moving car out of the way during a intentional pass of a semi and then continuing passing on a merging vehicle in the right lane... If I was tailgate'n I would clearly accept the option that them using the brakes would be a large possibility at any time so evasive maneuvering my 5000 lb ill handling SUV would need some extra space which they clearly did not leave...

It's nice to see when justice is swift hopefully the judge orders some driving school after seeing the video here...

I work in construction and I have stories. The pictures below show the results of a driver under the influence. He was weaving in and out of the closed lane of traffic doing 80 MPH in the 55 MPH workzone. We were base patching the freeway when the incident happened. The guy was driving with total disregard to his life, other drivers, and workers in the workzone. He drove into the 12-inch hole at 80 mph. The closure was on the far outside (lane 3), and his truck after he hit the hole ended up in the median. He sheared off three of his wheels. I saw my life flash before my eyes seeing this truck come at me. I am so fortunate to be alive. So to all of you that follow the speed limit in work zones. Thank you.
