I have the Stihl like that was in the JDSP auction and also is a great little saw, carry it on SxS and in car and truck when traveling. One battery charge will get through 2 to 3 6” maples. I believe I have the 12” bar so can be used with 1 hand at times. If you are a Milwaukee tool person that would be what I would get, same as if you have the Dewalt tools going that route wouldn’t be bad either.

<br>Good to know...I got that one in the auction.  I have no idea what I'll use it for, but seems like something I need.  lol

My brain tells me Stihl, I have heard very good things on the Milwaukee, and have many 20 volt DeWalt batteries? Yea, well what?

I have had a Dewalt 20 volt XR for a few years now. Works great for limbing and cutting up to 5 inch trees. A good 5AH battery will last about 20 minutes of cutting in 0 degrees weather. We take it along on the sleds and side by sides when making trail side camp fires. It was used a bunch when the bars were shut down in MN. My wife uses it around the yard for trimming and brushing. It's pretty much worthless if your planning on using it on big trees.

Thanks for those thoughts.

I have used a Makita a few times when brushing trails. Nice that they are instant to use, no warm up, just pull the trigger.
